I'm reading some people on here like they're addicted to weed? I thought it's impossible for you to get addicted to it? Some guy I know has also stopped smoking for about, mmm, 3 days... and he's all hyper looking and is like "oh man, oh man, 3 days without it, oh man"

    Hmm...

So what's the explanation here guys? I'd like to know please! :)

    I'm just asking.

It's like that with any habit. Doesn't mean you're addicted. Not that you can't be dependent on it for some things. But if you stop a nervous nail biter from biting their nails they're gonna be like WTF do I do?!?!

I suppose so... but it's still rather odd.

It's not like it's the best feeling in the world for me, though I do rather like it.

When I get high I get extremely relaxed. And basically, everything I see around me is relaxed too. Hmm... it's like every element and atom is actually a living organism, but instead of doing things, they're alive only to know that life is not for them to do things instead it's their for relaxing.

Everything seems to also get an "eye" of sorts, it's like everything is hazzed into a calm state.

    Anywho. :D Go on.

Like anything, one can develop a psychological dependence to cannabis.. One can also develop a psychological addiction to computers, paracetamol, excersise, self harm and pretty much anything else. If something becomes such a large part of your routine that life doesn't seem quite right without it then you can suffer from withdrawal symptoms and general shakyness when one doesn't partake, it's all about routine etc..

I'd say I was addicted in the sense that feels odd if I don't smoke for a little while. Not great but, hey, at least I know it...

So then it's all down to will power then, right?

Not necessarily, when something is a general part of your life and routine you can get tetchy and odd when you don't have it. If you smoke all day every day (out of choice not necessity) you're going to feel weird if you don't smoke for a while. I wouldn't say it's to do with willpower, more to do with what constitutes your 'normality', your comfort zone, so when that's suddenly changed you can feel out of sorts because that piece of your normal reality isn't there. You can get over it soon enough though :)

Weed doesn't cause addiction, we cause our own addiction to it. Its all in the mind. It becomes a habit that we associate with great pleasure and relaxation. When it is consumed in excess and then you stop using it, you may feel a large urge to want to smoke it again. But its just your brain telling you it wants instant pleasure, you don't need it and nothing bad will happen if you don't smoke again.

For some people weed is a very important hobby. Some people take it to an extreme like a bodybuilder does with exercise. They will situate their lives around smoking weed. And just like a bodybuilder, if they go without their obsession for a day, they will feel an agitating need to do what they do best. And what stoners do best is smoke trees! :sifone:

I had coffee with whisky and pitta bread with salad and humous.

The whisky was hair of the dog as I woke feeling horrible and had loads of work to do...

It's all about self control. I haven't smoked in 23 days now and it's like killing me, it really sucks, before I used it for anxiety and to help me sleep but ever since I got caught (have court next thursday) then I've been laying off. When you use it like I was, as self medicating, then it becomes habit forming fast. If you just use it recreationally every once in a worry, nothing to worry about really, just don't become an everyday smoker unless you're prepared to face consequences if it is taken away from you.

heyheyhey. lets dispell some myths right now... i am CONSTANTLY biting my nails and playing with my hair. but i'm hardly ever nervous.

nail biting does not necessarily mean nervous
hair twirling does not necessarily mean nervous

i can't tell you how many times a day people come up to me and are like "WHY U SO NRVUS?!?!?!??!?!" :toetap05:

Well, i've been a pretty much every day smoker for a year, smoking for two. I got stupid and took clonzapans (which makes you not give a fuck about shit) drank a beer and lit up with 2 of my buddys in my guest house at 8:fucking30 and one of my friends didn't use the damn silencer and you could smellt he weed from outside, my own mom called the cops on me. Don't ever challenge your mother! ha

    Wow. Haha.

Does weed really have that potent of a smell? I mean if I'm in an apartment and I'm smoking it inside, do you think the upstairs neighbor can smell it?
