I've heard a few people mentioning this, how does it work?

Would it help my new 'dreads' form and tighten? Is it simply a case of spraying salted water onto your heads? (Silly questions, I know....)

yers thats it exactly but no not just salted water, table salt contains iodine
you want either sea salt or kosher salt
or a dip in the ocean works too
you dont wannas use it all the time or leave it on too much thoughj or it can buildup and iritate the scalp
u can do a rince...or u can spray it on then some while later rinde out
some leave it on dayus but could be theyre scalps less sensative
it should do what it does in a matter of an hour or 2 then rince it
your welcome to experiment yourdself tho and find what works best

just put a tablespoon or 2 in a spray bottle add water shake n spray
what ui definately dont want is to add more salt then is solulable in the water
it doesnt have to be alot
some add lil lemion juice too but that can act like peroxide and bleach the hair when exposed to sun or heat

sea water won't help your hair unless you were swimming in it. spraying a bit of salt in your hair won't do shit. it's a waste of time.

Sorry dude I'm going to call :icon_bs: on that one. Sure swimming in the sea's better, but if I use a sea salt spray I can notice the difference definitely. For example I did a salt spray just a day ago and I can notice around the roots I have far more hair that's congoing and dreading.

As to the point as to whether I need to do it. No, of course I don't after so many years. I only do it if I feel like it, but if one is new to dreading then I would definitely recommend it, I think it helps. That's just my opinion though.

its called the natural method, not the do-nothing-this-is-the-no-assistance-method. better stay out of any weather conditions that may make your hair lock friendly.

to tell a human being to stop trying to control something is like telling a dog to stop fetching a ball. we are too worrisome, it is in our nature to want to get our hands on things and try to improve them. sea salt definitely isnt hindering anything.

hehe you are too cute! but i just get baleine salt at the store, i use it on my piercings too so i don't even go out of my way. just mix it with some water and dump it on my head :D if i were in the ocean i would frolick around and embrace the saltiness around me. anyway. having a glass of wine with you would be fun :D
