It's pretty natural when you first start your dreads to have them feel a little loose. I started my locks over 8 years ago, but I remember I used to palm roll mine when they were wet, that kind of tightened them up. Also, i have never used aloe on mine. It might be a good conditioner, but that is the last thing you wnt right now, because that will make your hair slippery and slip right out of the locks. I think you are smart not to use anything on them. Some people like organic beeswax but ultimately that will just attract dirt and lint and yucky stuff to stick to your hair and you dont want that. So my suggestion is palm roll your locks with good intentions in your heart! I don't know why but it works best when they are wet. They are tighter when they dry.
palm rolling also doesnt do much, and it can do aloyttas harm if overdone if u palmroll dont do it much or hard basicly u just gotta do nothing and they will dread oh on the aloe, it does condition but it sure dont make it slipery aloew dries as a film which shrinks pulling everything together asdit does i wouldnt use it to tighten..or often its best used as a conditioner and friz ciontrol very rarely but it wont make everything slip apart like she said backcombing is usualy a wasted steop alot of pain and dammaghe that really doesnt get u dreads much faster, maybe a week faster but the dammage isnt worthwhile you see how much it fell out..and if u went natural it probly would look exactly like itt does now from here on out just let it do what it does.
Aloe is not a conditioner and will not make your hair slippery or greasy. It will strengthen your locks, and will moisturize your dreads & scalp. It also helps to tame the frizzies.
