I'd like to design a prototype of bag/hat that people with long dreads can stuff their dreads into and use as a pillow.

That would be super awesome for camping.

crochet. you can make it loose or tight, textured or not, and if you find a 'marble bag' design it will be stretchy too, for longer dreads.

thats the closest picture i could find, the pattern in my head is like a flower, built up by adding petals into the previous petals. i'll try and find the pattern im thinking of.

    how about this?
Obtain a Baja hoodie, turn it inside out
and put your pillow in it...
    then sleep on it

Could you not making something like a sleeping bag about 1' wide that's closed on 1 end and the 2 long sides, no zip. You could just make it arbitrarily long, then slide in your dreads and roll it up into a reasonably soft pillow.

    RE:
Baja is a mexican hoodie ,very seqenced. It really is a beautiful peice of art but its enierly made of wool .Delicously nappy wool ,highly advised to try. I did this for three weeks and my congo got thicker , wider and somehow did not fall apart
Sometimes thats the kind of thing you really do have to band the big daddy congo mama locks
