Im hungry too. My diet today has been weird. I had some ceral with soymilk, a granola bar, juice, a quesadilla, a pb&j, an ice cream sandwich, soda, a bowl of pasta. Now Im super hungry again. I want something salty that requires no preparation
that looks terrible. i just got back from eating a shitload of cajun food and drinking full sail IPA. yum.
such a Rochester thing....all i can think of is jimmy Z's. mmmm. you gotta go with hamburgers, fries, homefries with meat hot sauce and ketchup/mustard all on top of it
wow you people who are saying it looks disgusting don't even understand... People love this shit around where I live..
Im getting myself some toast, is the only thing I can eat, that is salty and requires minimum preparation. Im gonna drizzle it with olive oil. Yum.
Garbage Plates originated in Rochester. They look gross but they are delicious. Pretty much every burger joint in Western NY serves them.
It's not taco meat. It's hotsauce with meat in it. The tradtional garbage plate is macaroni salad, homefries, and two cheeseburger patties (or hot dogs) topped off with hotsauce, onions, mustard and ketchup. There are also variations where the macaroni salad is substituted with baked beans. And in place of the hamburgers and hot dogs, they can be susbstituted with steak, chicken, eggs or fish, but I can't think of anyone who has it like that. The best is the traditional cheeseburger plate.
I once saw a potful of macaroni and ground meat with mold on top. Wont eat those two items together. Its been ruined for me.
lol..I never knew garbage plates were a local thing. I grew up eating them from Charlie's and I just assumed everyone was familiar with them. Interesting! Where in Rochester did they originate?
