"There are two types of people in the world, ones you can push around, and ones you can't. The former greatly outnumber the latter." Which are you?
I'm the type of person who burns Stephen King books because they are shit literature and shouldn't have the privilege of existence.
I believe in choosing my battles. It's never black or white. As much as I like and admire Stephen King that idea is not correct. I find that I take charge and be as direct as possible when I choose. While letting others do their job at other times. I feel that it is important to follow the grain and do as you are told until the time comes when you don't want to then it's time to either speek out or take over.
he doesn't mean by the quote its cut and dry, yes or no. But in general, yes you either go along with it or you get pushed with it. Id say I stand for myself and my own ideas, but it isnt always for the best....
The Stand .... FTW! Got to love The Dark Tower Series. I will agree he can be a bit long winded but then again feel free to check out Dean Koontz he can take pages to discribe a color or a feeling or a thought.
I like both reasons. I read way to much. I personally own over 3000 books. I did a rough count one day while I was blazed. I have all kinds of books. Fiction and Non-Fiction.
Steven King still owes me 2 hours of my life that I wasted watching Pet Sematary. That's why that guy ran him over-he couldn't stand that movie either.
Books ftw. King obviously isn't 'literature' in the same way that Conrad, Faulkner and Dostoevsky are. But when he's on, he writes some mighty fine chilling stories. Salem's Lot had me checking my windows for vampires for a week.
You wanna talk about long winded, check out CS Lewis' Out of the Silent Planet. If three page descriptions of hilly landscapes sound interesting to you, you'll love it.
shawshank redemption is one of my favorite movies, and comes from a stephen king story i respect the man
