I hate how i am stereotyped (and may others) because of my faith...I am a teenage girl! I have faith, and I have my morals, and Im not gona give them up but that DOESNT MEAN I dont like to have fun! I love to laugh, I love to listen to music and I love my friends... I dont do drugs or drink...well..I get drunk on the holy spirit. I read my bible everyday and keep it in my heart; I dont keep it in my back pocket. Ill talk to you about my beliefs if it comes up, ad Im not afraid to defend my faith, but Im not gonna shove it down your throat. I dont believe in premarital sex, but I do believe in romance. Theres just minor changes i me and other teenage girls..why am I treated so differently? I shrug it off most the time..but every now and then...it gets a little anoying.

 

The attacks I am sure is not against you personally. The attacks are on the irrationality and terrible results of your beliefs.

There was only one Christian, Jesus. And there are two possibililities, Jesus a) realized he was creating a false belief system, but thought the end justified the means. The End being the peace of mankind, the Means being mental bondage, slightly better than most considering it was mostly altruistic, but still complete shit. Or b) Jesus was especially succeptable to drug induced hallucinations or was a schizophrenic and actually believed the bullshit he preached.

Concrete Girl do not feel isolated, you are in the majority. A majority characterized by misdirection, but a majority nonetheless.

How comforting it must feel to have a God.
However, not as comforting it is for me to be my own.

I don't understand why people post the way they do. seems like everyone likes to pick on christians, that's probably why most the visitors to this forums come here, just to make themselves feel better by saying stupid nasty things to sincere people trying to say something sincere.

amanda i know how you feel but it doesn't matter what religion you are, everyone is catagorized by their race, gender, age, religion, appearance etc... it's not cuz your christian it's cuz you live somewhere where there are other people, and that's what people do. so don't worry about it and learn to live with it

 

I think it's probably because people remember the bad ones more than the average ones... So you know? Something like that... The bad fanatical ones are more memorable and so seem to be the majority whether or not that be true.. I just hate fanatics of any sort..

 

same here, it only takes a few nuts christians to give us all a bad name, i just hate it when people that barely even know someone fly off the handle at them just cuz they have one thing different about them. seriously...she said that she doesn't drink, do drugs, premaritle sex etc.... and everyone attacked her, what the hell is up with that!!! since when is it soo horrible to have values and stick to them, she didn't say anything about anyone with different values and everyone still attacked her.

 

I dunno... Drugs, drinking, and pre-marital sex are loads of fun?

 

so if you like to skateboard does that give you the right to yell and bitch and be an asshole to people that don't like to skateboard? same with the drugs etc... if someone doesn't like it then who cares!!! does the fact that I don't do drugs stop you from enjoying a joint? no me doing or not doing drugs isn't gonna affect anyone else's enjoyment of it, so people should just stop being assholes and find something worth while to get pissed off about

The problem is organized belief. It suppresses individual thought. It closes the mind and ingrains predetermined ethics, morals, and potential. It is righteous because it is the word of God. Are you too lazy to create your own ethics? You cannot actually believe there is a God... really, come on now..

 

Christians though seem to pick on everyone else as well though...

 

quite a lot of religious people go off at atheists, agnostics or just people who have no interest in the concept of religion. many christians on this forum, and lately a muslim or two have come into the atheist/agnostic forum trying to question our "belief" or to tell us how we are wrong. all groups get discriminated against for what they are. its not just christians. its everyone. if youre part of something, others will discriminate against you. its not fair, but its what its like. we just all gotta try to not be like that, and hopefully the hate will go away eventually right? but i dont see that happening..

 

See... oce again, thats some christians give the lot a bad image... just cuz I dont do the things I said I dont, doesnt mean I wont talk yo you if you do... A lot of my friends arent christians but we can coexist just fine... I dont shove off my beleifs to others, unless I am asked a question or somehow feel it fits with the discussion. I know that the fastest way to lose a friend, or any chance of getting someone saved is to be preached at.

 

thats the type of line a non-believer, will trip over, its maybe a good thing to keep that to yourself or to other christians. I'm sure there has never been a non-believer, that heard such a line and decided to change there ways.

that's not true. you are stereotyping the crazy fanatical christians with the more subtle christians. i believe in god but i still have a lot of fun.. i mean i do drink, smoke pot, do occasional drugs, have sex.. blah blah but i do believe in god. stop the stereotyping please or leave the forums because stereotyping is not what the forums are about. they are about unity and understanding and peace.. you know all that shit.
