hello people i have had dreads for about 3 years now and i wash them bout twice a week the shampoo i use is residue free and has no fragance of it so when i wash my hair it smells of *hair* thats it i was goin to buy some natural oils such as lavander or almond i was just wondering could i had some drops to the shampoo and would it put a scent in my dreads? also would i be able to add a bit to home made locking accelerator (2 table spoons sea salt, skirt of lemon and the rest water) please reply to this thanks alot
can you add it to stuff well the simple smartass answer would be if your smart enough to figure out how to pour one bottle intop another ofcourse u can add it the questuion tho should bne how much to add a few drops goes a long way id add maybe 20drops to the shampoo at most possibly less and shake well to mix it the seasalt spray id maybe add only 5-10 keep[ in mind that when u use oilsds especialy close to your face u quickly stop noticing the scent but others across the room may think its veryu strong so keep it to a minumum cause u wont realize just hopw strong the sme,l is tioll someone 30 feet away complains
my favorite is arabian sandalwood oil. it's the color and consistency of honey but it smells like heaven! not an overpowering scent, just the way i like it. 2 drops on my hands and rub all through my dreads. Soft & shiny plus smells delightful! the best for my head
Woow I've just bought some essential oils from a shop, but says I need a carrier oil? Can I just use it straight on my dreads? Mmmm.. Orange
yeah pure oils burn your skin i got peppermint and had it to everything like homemade lockign accelerator and home made moisturizer for my dreads get an aloe plant and squeeze the goo out of it but it in a tub had bout half a cup of water to it stir it up had a pure oil bout 10 drops to it then stir again and use like u would use wax on your hair as it dries it drys ur hair out but leaves it feeling light takes frizz away aswell also if you ligve in the united kingdom and know the chemist called boots then you can pick up a really really good shampoo there called boots anti build up shampoo its tottally residue free and removes everything from your hair it doesnt smell so i added 15 drops to that hope this helps
u used wax? yikes esential oilds are medicinal grade so 1 drop mixed woth anything goes far u canj mix with jojoba to condiotion u can mix with olicve oil evben to spread it (dont use too much) pepermint can burmnn bad eyes sinuses u name it 2 drops can have your eyesa tearing and nose running for hours if you dont need medicional stiff better to go with normal scented pilds like patchoily thgese are not medicinal grade so can be used straight just for the scent u can also use lemoin balm or simulatrr rub the leaves betweeen your hands till your hands smell yummy then wipe on dreads
i think carrier oil is more intended for if you make massage oils and things, but im not sure =] and i havent heard the thing about pure oils burning skin - i didnt have any problems when i used pure/neat orange oil on my dreads. but fuck me, the stuff is STRONG. the whole house smelt of oranges for daaayyyss
yea i havent been "burnt"yet mayb sum scalps are stronger than others n dont take bad to oils yea i used wax botu once every 2 months just a little bit and then wash it out the next day its jsut so my hair gets sum moisture
