I have no faith or interest in property ownership. Humanity is just a race of squatters, the only thing people own is the illusion that they have possession of a slice of land and/or pile of mortar or whatever else they use as a shelter. So why, then do people invest so much energy into earning a slice of property that in the end, they do not own? Am i crazy for not wanting to play that game? Am i crazy for thinking that id rather use my energy for something more meaningful and good? Ive thought about being a hobo, it seems like a honest life, and alot more free.
You're not crazy, you're smart. This is why I never own property, it's pointless. When you own (or think you own) land, you're tied down to one place, I like the freedom to be able to say 'sod this city/country, I'm off'
People need shelter, a toilet, a shower. It's good to have all these things in the one place, a place where you can relax and not be disturbed if you don't want to, and not get beaten and raped on the street. That said, I agree that ownership of land is just something society thought up.
you are not crazy what so ever. if you can unclutter your life your ultimately going to be rewarded with a higher meaning and understanding of life. many people ahead of you have figured out the same exact thing. people like thoreau, emerson and the more modern, christopher mccandless who 'into the wild' was based on. I think about this stuff a lot too and its what i try to live my life by. though, its really hard to achieve any of those goals when im still living with my material parents. very soon i will be out on my own and finally able to lighten my load and travel about the world. "How can you buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the land, the sparkle of the water or the freshness of the air?"
i beg to differ. on the whole i agree; but when it comes down to my musical instruments, mixing/recording and speaker equipment - and this very laptop (which comes in brilliantly in music production), it's a whole different kettle of fish. music is rhythm and rhythm is life; and by whatever means i can create music and produce it, then naturally i'm going to value and respect the tools that harness my form of expression... plus; don't you value what you're typing on right now?! purely for the connection/research/access to information factor? but; it's cliche in the world of lsd, to let go of material posession, open up and discover more about yourself and your environment, and so much more..
lol you misunderstand. cliche meaning; that's ground that's already been tread by leary and ram dass; i've read other people talking the same stuff, one of which opened this thread. and you either have lysergic acid diethylamide-25, or you dont, aint even a question of how 'real' it is, lol
deliberate living is not everyones cup of tea....in fact its only for a tiny tiny amount of people. There have been a lotttttt of factors in my life that have made me feel the way i do. Detatching yourself from society, freeing yourself from all the restraints that material possesions brings and seeking a higher meaning in life have nothing to do with lsd. lsd might offer a shortcut to realizing these things, but they can be achieved just as well with a sober mind. You think its a cliche only because others have done it. People have done everything! you could really call anything cliche... loving music and saying its the rythym of life is cliche....(no offense, just pointing it out) I don't think there is anything cliche about dropping out of society, something so massive as getting rid of almost everything you own and living with what you NEED.
Crazy is just another word for aware. Were all kind of crazy but that is for you to determine what crazy is. I completely understand the feeling of not being tied to material possessions but these possessions we hold on till we die are only part of the ride that is life. I keep reminding my father that I dont require anything material to be happy but then he brings me back to earth somehow. What about children, providing for them, passing on legacy? People invest in strips of land because were not here forever, time continues to pass and one day we'll give that land up. sigh, were just animals with bigger brains, do your animal duties by producing smaller humans and enjoy life. then pass.
Living Corpse, i know you took the red pill =D i agree, people come and go land doesn't all property ownership is, is a temporary squat before one moves on and the cycle is repeated
No,you're not crazy.I have no desire for material possesions. The less material stuff I have the happier I am.
YOU'RE NOT CRAZY...but you do think critically. which is something a lot of people aren't capable of today. eace:
no your not crazy at all. Infact your alot wiser then the rest of them. Some ppl just cant see whats going on.....or just dont want to know .
