Little mom problem. Suggestions wanted!

I lost my cell phone privileges like 3 months ago. I recently just asked for one back but my mom says absolutely not. Shell consider it in another 3 months when Im 18. Her reasoning is she doesn't trust me because when I got in trouble with some drinking, a major part of it was that I had a cell phone to contact my friends? She thinks me having a cell phone I have easy access to friends to go party or something. Anyways I think its pretty stupid but thats her reasoning. I haven't argued it to much despite how every person my age has one. And I have lost major contact with lots of people. She says just use the house phone. Fine whatever. I recently just found out she has been listening to all my phone conversations and thats how she caught me in the past. And she still listens to all of them. My bro told me.

Anyways I am furious but how should I handle this? Should I plan a fake phone conversation with a friend that I know my mom will listen to, to catch her in the act? Should I just yell at her soon and try to use this as leverage and go buy a cell phone anyways? Should I just go buy a phone then say well now you can't listen to my convos anymore? Should I just talk to her about it then wait until im 18? Hmmm any advice is wanted. And yes blah blah I know cell phone is a privelage but she wont even let me buy my own and pay for it myself. Which you legally only have to be 13 to do so.

 

Sounds like you've done something for her to lose her trust in you like that. Even though what she is doing (listening in on your calls) might be wrong, her intentions are right. When you're 18 you can do what you want. Until then, listen to her, maybe you'll learn something.
