Originaly posted 24 Jan. Most of you who knew Thomas probably have this from other sources.

    howdy,
yep, i got some of what believers call Great News... Jesus Christ
called to Earth, for a PeaceMaker... for help with projects going
on.... Reason, Truth, Looking after the People... in Heaven and in
    the Skies...
On Earth, 7am or so Washington D.C. time, on his way to his
Day, William Thomas, walked a ways, then the waters of the Earth
filled his lungs, and this tree of knowledge, this human, lay down
    Proposition 1
his body here, his soul walked free.

(After a lengthy illness, his lungs gave out... and Thomas
passed from the Earth, Peace House, D.C..)

Thomas of Lafayette Peace Park, who, if ever you met, would always
want to introduce you to Proposition 1... <pr...@prop1.org> ...
A simple Proposition to Lay down the Nukes, turn all that green and
talent toward helping out the Peoples of the Earth...
With Signs, and Presence, since 1981, in Lafayette Peace
Park, across from the White House... Consistent Free Speech...

I been there many times, and I met Thomas and Ellen, in
    1984...
Thomas was one of the finest of men, who would always have liked to
be a better person so he could do better at lobbying for Disarming
the World from Nuclear Weapons, Feed People, find Justice, Peace, and
Public land Use.. the Right of an Individual to be on Public land in
Free Speech... WITH SIGNS.... etc... a community person.

I loved him dearly, he was brilliant, so many good
qualities... and he, like so many other people, was not a perfect
person.... but shucks, I loved him.... dearly... he was my friend,
from the moment I met him, and onto into the Skies...

I spoke with Ellen - bless her, good vibes, support, and good vibes
and support to the Peace House folks and Conception --
Ellen says there is to be on MARCH 20, 2009, LAFAYETTE PEACE PARK, A
CELEBRATION, A SALUTATION of Thomas (would have been his 62nd
Birthday), and of his lifelong efforts...

AND, please bring DRUMS.... remember Drums for Peace...
and good vibes.... further information will be forthcoming...
I got a phone call, and there is a phone tree growing... for
those folks who have not heard, this is going out all around....

And for those folks who didn't know Thomas, well check out
Proposition One, the website... and know this is an ONGOING PEACE
    PROJECT...

Oh, yeah, and iffn folks want to see Thomas... in a (recent) Movie
(DVD) called "The Sentinel" with actor Michael Douglas... in the
opening of the movie Michael Douglas walks from the White House,
across the street, and into Lafayette Peace Park, and passes by
Thomas sitting at the Sign, and Michael Douglas pauses for a moment,
where you can Read the Sign... and then walks on.... just like
thousands upon thousands of people saw and read the sign, before
9/11, and even now, in 2009... the Work of Disarmament of Nuclear
    Weapons is not done...
One of the Workers for Peace and Justice is gone onto the
Skies... to join our brothers and sisters... who are Gathered in the
    Circle in the Skies.

It is just as likely though, when you get up near Heaven's Door, you
might chance to see a Sign and some being, some soul, sitting at this
Sign, and the Sign Reads, "Hey, god, hey jesus, don't you see the
Reason in Earth Disarming from Nuclear Weapons"...

and when you ask, hey bro, why don't you head on in.... Door's
    Open...

The reply, from our friend (doubting) Thomas will likely be...
"Hey, I'll head on in, when there is no Nuclear Weapons and the
People are cared for on Earth"

See you on the Road, true brother,
Barry, plunker, montana, rainbow family tribe

on march 20th, noon all of thomas' signs will be brought in procession and there will be a 3 day memorial at lafayette park and everybody who can should try to come

to celebrate this man and to insist on peace, no nukes, human rights, use of public lands with no permits, and etc.

ellen asked to pass word around. also before gathering she will be touring eastern states and after gathering she will tour western states to try to get proposition 1 on all referendum ballots where states allow and in legislatures where referendums are not allowed. she will need crashplaces, food, contacts, assistance to reach groups, politicians who might be influential and lean towards peace and no nukes and so forth.

sorry for the repost but my minds just spinning over this news
i met thomas..i dint evgen remember when..early 80s probably i was pretty younfg maybe even just 16 or so
from thye 1st timje i met him he was an inspiration and about 1 iof thye freindliest easiest people to get aklong with
id mostly see him at the ends of disarmemant marches (really the only reason i went to dc ever) but in the mid 80s ..84 or so i spent several monthsthere and would go see thomas every day and spend hours talking to him
he was the type that was easy to call freind after knowing him only momments
and his dedication to his cause was beyond what most are capable of, only my dear freind kathy change (google her) came close to that same level of dedication
people like them leave a void that cannot be filled
even if 100 people picked up where he left off it wouldnt have the same effect as if he was still here doing whast he did

i feel sad not only for the loss felt by all those who loved and knew him, but even more so for the loss to all who never got the chance..the loss is not just to us, but to the world
all i can say is i hope and pray that all he lived his life for comes to pass soon

i believe we should write a disarmament proposal in his name , an expansion on prop 1

some peoples lives have a purpose..theyre deaths do too
theyre lives are a shining examople to teach alklk a better way to live
but these lessons are easily ignored
but a death odf someone so dedicated to a cause can lead to action
and isnt action what he was fighting for all those years?

i was partialy named (middle name) after my great uncle who died at the end of the longest hungerstrike in irelands history (78 days) he was fighting for freedom like thomas fought for peace
and although he was allowed to die starving in his cell his death did begin a series of changes for ther better (although there was a much further way to go still)
    my point being
when someone puts so much effort into acause as thomas did, the end of the era is also a beginning
he was such a fixture in peace park decade after decade that his absence now will be even more of a remiinder then his pressence was
just like when klathy went out like a beacon of hope and change suddenly everyone took notice of what shed been saying all those years

sorry for the rant its just my way of processing thuis news
he really was a force of change and all i can say to reasure those who loved him is...change will come one day
he lived a life that truly mattered

I never met him, but was familiar with the rainbow legal page at prop1.org. Sorry to hear of his passing.
