Guys in drag I always just found weird, like it's one thing if you're actually trying to be a woman and the hormones and cosmetic surugury just couldn't help your looks that much, but I never really understood dressing up as a girl just for shits and giggles.

It's not a sexual thing, or any desire to in a woman-woman relation or anything, like it's hard to explain, but it's just feeling that I should've been female, and I want to be one for the sake of being one. They've done studies on male to female people and I assume it works vice versa too, but they've showed even before any kind of transition when they were still just seeing a shrink about it that the men's brains we're more naturally "hardwired" so to say like a woman's brain.

But it's science, literally, men and women's brains do process some things a bit different in scans done. And even physically, the brain bridge connecting the left and right hemispheres of the brain is larger in women(well by ratio) then it is in men, which aside from a list of things, one sterotype that's somewhat true that that particular fact plays a great deal into is the fact it is truth that women are generally better at multi-tasking/the big picture kind of thing while men are in fact better at focusing on specific things and details.

hahaha, trust me I don't take offense, extreme macho man or very feminine woman I'd still always have the same sarcastic, disgusting and horrible sense of humor. But to add to the list like c'mon nothing beats "hey, hey, dude looks like a lady"

Anyone who would reject you or insult you for your decision is not worth a shit to begin with. That is just a projection of someone else's own insecurities.
In my eyes it means nothing, even though I barely know you Syd, it doesnt change my opinion of you at all. If I were your friend in the physical I would support you all the way.
The only time I wouldnt support this kind of thing is if you were 300lbs and hairy all over, but I had a major peak on LSD once at a folk fest and a massive sweaty bearded man walked by in a thong and a bra and my mind took a few steps back from heaven lol.
Make no mistake however, this IS ultimatley a sexual thing. At first it may appear to be a search for your identity and to feel comfortable and free, but eventually you will be looking for a partner and your sexuality will be brought into the spotlight. If your bisexual and can love a person of either sex then your good, but if you are still struggling with your sexual preference then I would suggest straightening (lol no pun intended) that out before you consider a surgery.
Either way I wish you the best of luck and know that not everyone will think of you and differently. There are open minded, good people in the world, unfortunatley not many.

Oh no doubt, sexual preferences aside, if I wind up going down that road, well generally you attract different people with soft curves then with hard angular muscles(or skin and bones in my case haha). But a flood of estrogen onto the brain can also alter orientation a bit

just wanted to necropost this thread, because we learned a good deal about gender identity disorder in abnormal psych today.

anyway MadCap, it takes a lot of balls to make a thread like this. a lot of people who feel as if they were born as the 'wrong gender' suffer in silence, spend their lives single/miserable, or even end up commiting suicide. :(

anyway, apparently if you ever wanted to actually become a lady, the transition is a lot smoother going from M to F than vice versa. :)

I don't know though... is this something you think about constantly, on a day to day basis.. like "I wish I was a woman" or "I feel like I'm trapped in the wrong body".. ?

Yes, that is one bright light in the fact going F to M does seem a lot harder, your boobs need to surgically removed, they can make you a penis but it won't be functional in any way vs the opposite. Plus, if you're a woman but feel like a man I think it'd be harder on your mind to have to be a woman then living as a man when you feel like a woman.

I don't know how to explain the feeling though, like the logical thought of putting the feelings together is "I feel like a woman" but it's hard to say, but it's just something you feel from a young age and when you look back on what you use to do back then it's like "ohhh, that makes more sense now" I guess I do think about it on a daily basis, but it's not like this crippling overpowering through, it's there, it exists, and I wish I could do something about it but currently lack the means to, it can be frustrating sometimes but I mean I've lived this long as a man and I am physically perfectly healthy, I just go on with my life and play male for now. That's the easy part, there's nothing to deal with yet and only a few people in my actual life know, transistioning though, now that's going to be horrible sometimes.

You have to think it's really no less natural then pumping a body full of estrogen and such.

wow this is so interesting. the way you're talking about it really sounds genuine to me. i wish you could describe better what it means to "feel like a woman" - i mean, im a woman, and i dont even know you mean by that exactly? i understand sexual attraction, and being comfortable with your body, but other than that, what is it about you (on the inside) that is womanly?
