how many other people hate reputation?

heat, im gonna rep. you for this. i dont always AGREE with you but i have mad love for you. you've proven that you deserve that!!

i never knew about this rep thing untill now.... i just checked I have "12 points"... 2 people have given me rep. That's cool if they felt they needed to do that, but now I feel bad b/c I didn't know about it.
I'm a member of a Pagan board (maybe not for long because most of them attention whores and I can't stand the rules) who has a similar thing called "kharma points" I've racked up good kharma b/cc of my wittiness and I reward people who make me laugh or if i feel sorry for them. I guess what we have here is something similar to that.

 

The only thing worse then the rep system is the numerous threads made about not liking it.

why not turn it off? i did. seems silly to complain about the negative comments, call them worthless, yet delight in the praiseful ones. if the insults are from cowards, are the compliments from geniuses? the whole rep thing is a joke.

 

I think it's nice that people take a second to leave thoughtful comments. I think it sucks when people take a second to leave bad comments but don't sign their name. I have only received a couple bad comments. None of them were signed.

I have never left anyone a bad comment. There were a few times I wanted too but then thought why waist my time. Not only that I would rather save my rep opportunity to make someone smile.

I'd rather have a bad rep with good explanation, than good rep without it. I just don't care for a jewels...

reputation is a could be a good thing to have sometimes because it can get you respect, but at other times also exhausting

 

i like it, i get a good laugh out of the bad ones, and some of the good ones too!!!!!!!!

yeah I agree with you.
I actually think it would be better if you could just give people postive points, I don't see any point at all in sending negative, as on a board like this we should be able to say pretty much what we want, and if i piss some one off lets just be open about it.
ive always said that if you feel your too sensitive, come and join the hip forums.
ive had comments like what the f*** are you still doing on here, that was on a thread.
and rep points have included 'I think its cute your such a F***ing retard'
'you suck at life'
and 'die'
this is abusive stuff, however its worth remembering that it says much more about what state the person sending it is in, rather than a reflection on you, as actually no one knows me on this forum.
people can say what they like, i won't send out negative rep now ever, but ive had so many postive intreractions on here that i'm not going to let negative comments ethier bother me or stop me coming here.
if you enjoy rep ignore the negative, unless you feel they have a point and they sign it, if you don't disable it
