Is there a way to prepare and take salvia that lengthens and makes less intense the experience? For example you can smoke DMT and apparently get an effect similar (in intensity) to salvia, or you can prepare an oral dose and get a more drawn out trip, similar in intensity to shrooms. Is there a similar way of doing this with salvia? i would assume that if you could get the psychoactive ingredients to your brain at a slower, less concentrated rate you could pull it off. It would be an interesting experiment.

maybe a quid is what you have in mind?

this method involves chewing wet salvia leaves for ~30 minutes, without swallowing any of the "juice" buildup. i've heard this also works with extracts (putting a tiny peice in a bit of pre chewed gum, taking 1/2 shot of hard liquor, and chewing that for 30 minutes or so), again not swallowing as salvinorin is destroyed in your stomach.

takes about 30 minutes to come on (so you spit the leaves out just as you begin to trip), and it lasts for roughly two hours. i've never done it but this method appeals to me WAY more than smoking salvia, simply because i'm intimidated by the violent launch i've heard so much about, and i'd much prefer a gentle come up.

i haven't been able to find much information about the relative intensity of using a quid against smoking, maybe someone who has done it can give you more info on that?
