i'm not sure this is the right place to post this question. i've been getting headaches and toothaches lately, all from the left side, which is the side of my tragus piercing. the piercing seems to have healed just fine and the first few weeks it presented no complications whatsoever. do you know if the pain could be connected to the piercing or if it's random?
Sounds like neuralgia, or nerve pain. Could well be due to the piercing. You may have caused some nerve damage. I would see a medical professional. I hope you heal soon. You are feeling pain in your teeth due to "referred pain."
whoa - that wasn't supposed to be that large. anyway, that would be the tragus. maggiesugar, i'm afraid you're right. i hope the damage isn't permanent. piercings are not a good idea. my ear is blocked.
well, i am going to see my piercer tomorrow. if he says it's something to be worried about, i'll go see a doctor. don't worry, though - i don't think the area is connected to hearing nerves. they're supposed to be safely placed somewhere inside the head.. the tragus is too much on the surface, so i hopefully won't be deaf forever. hopefully
EEEK, you are having trouble hearing? I don't know if any of the hearing nerves are involved (although the pain ones are) but you may have an infection, which may be subclinical (means it's hard to detect) and that could effect your hearing. I hope you heal. Please see that doc. And report back to your piercer, too. These people want to know the outcomes so they can refine their tecniquies, too. I would see the doc first (see if you can get a doc who isn't an old fudddy duddy and has problems with piercing....) and then see the piercer.
