Hello. My outpatient tests for methadone. Sucks. If I take 20 mg on thursday will I be good for a piss test on monday?
Methadone, as you probably know, has a crazy long half life. You should be good, but I'd drink plenty of fluids before hand just to be safe When I get tested(school baseball) I've passed with doing oxy as close to 36-48 hours before, so I'm guessing methadone would be about double that.
That does suck they test for methadone. 10mg is very little, but it's still risky, methadone can be in the system for so long, if I had to bet I would say it wont show up because of how low the amount is, but I really dont think you should risk it, it's probably not worth it.
they don't test for methadone. at least, not specifically. they test for opiates and opioids (opioids being synthetic or semisynthetic opiates with opiate structures and pharmacological properties, such as heroin, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and methadone) if the test detects any one of these substances it will register as positive for opiates/opioids, but they wont be able to tell whether you took codeine or heroin or what. to the OP, i don't know how long indicative amounts will stay in your system. i would recommend against taking it until after your test on monday. but i've heard nothing but pretty lousy comments in regards to methadone's recreational value
In my IOP, they test for methadone and all other opiates seperate, because there are some people on MMT. A lady in my group is and her tests come back neg for all substances including opiates and positive for Methadone. They must be able to seperate methadone from the other opiates while testing.
This is how Ive heard that it goes. In a traditional test that test's for opiates such as oxy, h. etc, methadone wont produce a positive result, it takes a extended drug test to test for methadone, a traditional 5 panel drug test wont show a opiate positive result if youve taken methadone.
You can buy methadone test strips for under $2, just google "methadone drug tests". Ya can probably find them locally. Yes, methadone shows up on certain drug screens.

ah, i was thinking of the standard 5 urinalysis categories. though its still baffling to me how they could manage to test for one opioid specifically and exclude others. i'm also surprised they would even bother wasting time testing for methaqualone. thats qualudes, which has been off the market for years since it was banned. the potential for underground chemists to produce it still exists, of course, but it's more a legend of its time than a worthwhile recreational drug. most people say it caused no real euphoria, but just made you sleepy. i've never once heard of anyone taking methaqualone recreationally post-prohibition. made schedule I in the US in 1984. but i guess it's still used as a pharmaceutical in some other countries.
