Without waiting for the CBS’s 60 Minute program to break the tale on October 31, New York Times provided a bogus story for desperate Democrats.

Meanwhile John F. Kerry and former President Clinton strolled onto the stage yesterday, informing their supporters that under President Bush’s watch a huge cache of explosives vanished from site in Iraq. The problem, his words were false, the cache had vanished from site before troops arrived.

How do we know this? NBC embedded reporters that arrived on the scene with US troops during the war found no cache of explosives as described.

Just when is a lie not a lie? How perfect that Clinton’s appearance and this national lie would arrive on the same day.

I really missed Bill. I LOVE Bill Clinton.

Other sources say the explosives did disappear during occupation.

Except that the reporter you mention has clarified the statement. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6323933

An NBC News crew that accompanied the U.S. soldiers who seized the base three weeks into the war said troops saw no sign of the missing HMX and RDX.

Reporter Lai Ling Jew, who was embedded with the Army’s 101st Airborne, 2nd Brigade, said Tuesday on MSNBC TV that the news team stayed at the base for about 24 hours.

“There wasn’t a search,” she said. “The mission that the brigade had was to get to Baghdad. That was more of a pit stop there for us. And, you know, the searching, I mean, certainly some of the soldiers headed off on their own, looked through the bunkers just to look at the vast amount of ordnance lying around.

“But as far as we could tell, there was no move to secure the weapons, nothing to keep looters away.”

Anybody have an opinion about whether Clinton would have won in 2000 if he could have run? How about if he could run in 2004? Would he win?
