    In the pre-dawn morning of May 15, 1969 several hundred Berkeley police and Alameda County sheriffs captured People’s Park (killing only one hippie, Jim Rector) from college students and street people. Later in the day Gov. Reagan called in 2,000 National Guardsmen. Five days later these police and guardsmen were still using military helicopters and teargas against protesters.
