they look cool twisted but yeah, id be afraid of washing them cause they will probably come almost all the way undone same with any slow process.
thanks! never been to montreal but i hear its the shiz. how do you like it? and where are you leaving to?
I just wanted to wish you luck You've definitely got to keep the dreads clean so plan to wash soon. And then plan for them to come mostly undone and to do some work afterward while the hair is still damp, resection and smooth with aloe vera gel, etc. But locks need to be clean to dread. Keep on keepin' on, they are looking good!
Thanks a lot for your beautiful words guys... I sure am learning quite a bit about the whole process and dreadlocks!! yesterday a question came to my mind about the science of dreadlocks and how they form on their own and why cleaning them helps with the process, one thing I know is that the hair needs to be able to more, thats why wax is shit I guess, anyways I went online searching and came up with this, check it out, it is very interesting... basically it is the wetting of the hair that makes it dread!!!! http://www.sciencefriday.com/videos/watch/10188 you guys might already know this but thought I might as well share... so im thinking maybe id start wetting my... twisties every other day or so and see how that goes, just wetting them with a sprayer... cheers
Montreal is such a beautiful city, I dont mind the cold that much and I love this city.... but, I hate stupid man made jungles in general, every so often I need to let some steam.... and very soon im heading to the bush!! Im a treeplanter and work all over northern Canada, stay in the outdoors in my little tent for a few months and then im going traveling... probably start in europe and mid east for some family time and then spend a couple of months in south america until I go back to the bush
sounds wonderful!! ive looking into tree planting too and id love to do it. your travel destinations sound great too, im jealous! ik what you mean too, im not so much a city gal. i grew up in a small town surrounded by nature and i wouldnt like to live any other way for very long.
Treeplanting is amazing, its one of the most amazing experiences of my life and its probably the one thing that I am most proud of... Its a tough job and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone, but if you look into it and know you can do it it can be very rewarding.... I think youd like it ;p
So After 5 days, I had to do it.... I had to wash my hair!!! I went in the shower thinking im probably gonna loose at least some of my twisties but it turned out much better than I thought, and felt fuckin great... I just used water, sprayed on my hair... I made sure all my hair was wet and let it air dry Its pretty poofy now, I decided im just gonna leave it alone... I love the stage its in and dont wanna do anything else, and im probably gonna keep wetting and air drying it every other day or so!!! peace
too be honest, i get hot water and add salt until it tastes like the ocean so lots of sea salt. maybe 3 table spoons to 8oz cup? i get the baliene salt, comes in a big shaker and i use it on my food too. i combine the hot water and salt in a spray bottle and shake it then spray it on my actual dreads... avoiding the scalp and skin... and then leave it on a few hours before i shower. i leave it on overnight sometimes. hope that helps....
suwweet man, those are and are gonna get more and more wickedwild congrats on starting the amazing journey
off to an awesome start they held together welltghrough the 1st washing i wouldnt avoid doing a proper cleaning with soaps unless u really intend to not use any i think youd be better off just keeping em clean from here on out
