the seventies sucked. everything in california went to hell in the seventies thanks to reagan.
by the eighties, reagan then fucked america over!
the only good things in the seventies, were when new wave and punk came along.

:peace:I can give you some stories from the early 70's. In '71 I was in school at the Univ. of So. Miss. At the time I had some orange barrel acid - it was Friday and I wanted to get high. I called a friend in Jackson, Ms. and he told me he and some others had just dropped some acid. Rat's, I was 90 miles away.

So I jumped in my car and headed for Jackson - when I was about 30 minutes away, I went ahead and dropped figureing that I was just be coming on when I reached their place. Wrong! With in 15 minutes I was getting a buzz and in 20 I was flat out tripping. After that point all I could see was 30 ft long cars slowly cruising by me as I made my way to my destination - Red cars, green cars, blue cars - they were really beautiful.
I felt like one of that old farts who leans way up toward the steering wheel and looks trough it trying to see the road. What a trip - I made it but I have no idea how. If it hadn't been sooo cool it would have been scary.

Ah, the 70's. I have to say that this was my acid phase but mostly blotter (liked the ones with Mickey Mouse). When I retire and get really old and dottery I'm going to do acid every day. But also the 70's for me were when coke really hit the scene. It was everywhere and anywhere from $75-100 a gram. Qualudes were the best drug ever to get laid with (Rorer's were the real thing.) I had a script for them and valium from a hippie doctor in Brookline MA. I do miss the panama red and alcapulko gold. I think I paid 35-$40 an oz. for it. I had a commercial power hitter I bought at a head shop but don't remember who made it. I think I paid $7.50 to see Rolling Stones with Stevie Wonder in 72. There was no AIDS yet so sex was fairly carefree although herpes was the trendy STD that horrified everyone. Swinging was also making the news with Plato's Retreat in NY being the famous sex club. Also hearing craziness going on in the NY gay bathhouses. In all the porn women had pubic hair and you had to go to a theater to see the movies. If you wanted to take naked pictures of someone you had to buy a Polaroid camera. American muscle cars dominated the market but Toyota and Datsun (now Nissan) started showing up on the streets when the Arab Oil Embargo hit. Owned a 1971 Datsun 240Z, orange with white lettering that was the best pussy getting car I ever owned. 8-track tape machines in cars were the rage in the early 70s but by the end of the decade they were gone replaced by cassette tapes. Still plenty of vinyl around though. If you didn't have a decent stereo then you were not at all cool so in my first apartment I owned a stereo before I owned a bed. Water beds were the rage and really cheap compared to a regular matress and box springs. I remember that video games started to show up in bars. Spent a frickin' fortune in quarters playing pac-man and galaga. Used to get a draft beer at my local bar for $.25. I remember paying that for a gallon of gas in the early 70's. I remember Gas Wars where gas stations would have pricing matches and you'd get a free glass if you filled the tank. In most places I lived you weren't allowed to pump your own gas. The attendant did it and cleaned your windshield and checked your oil while he was at it.

the problem of haveing to get up to pass a doob was solved by attaching a roach clip to an antennae then you could shorten or lengthen it accordingly.one guy i remember had a clip attached to a wire from the ceiling.good times.i just know a couple people in town anymore that still smoke.i sure do....i dropped acid maybe 20-25 times.mostly orange sunshine and window pane.some psilocybin too.but i haven't done any in over 30 years....i was wondering where all the phone booths go.?did they become rocket ships and are circleing the earth?speaking of rockets i was remembering evil knievel's jump over the snake river canyon in '74.

    quiz... what was it called?

you would tie a piece of plastic up in knots and light the end while it hanged over a bucket of water

    I always considered windowpane..like late acid :)

Ahh the 70s many fond and traumatic memories. The drugs tried em all. Sure miss 25$ ounces of killer c bo and panama red and the lebanese blond hash for 4$ a gram. Dont miss drinking too much with my qualudes and crashing my bike. Cops would take our weed and smoke it and not put us away for 6 mos like they do to todays kids. surf trips to beaches where you saw noone but those who came with ya. Kegs on the beach with bonfires without nazi cops raiding. I thought the 90s kids were pretty cool kinda rekindled some 70s ish stuff. still love Alice in Chains and grundge. 80s started off ok then came all the laws and rules about everything. big brother lives

wrong; they were certainly excellent times, unless you had a bad attitude(my mommy doesn't like me) or are actually too young to remember.

the absolute worse thing was when crybabies with bad attitudes, (and even worse musician skills) calling themselves punks and new wavers came along. They couldn't even tune their guitars, that's when tuners were invented. LOL.
