I forgot the most important part.

The words and context of how they are taken in respect to the person but also the seriousness of the topic.
There is a very fine line between disrespect and sarcasm.

So what do you believe?

 

Enough people are offended by the notion that Jesus might not have been white to suggest to me that stating the bleeding obvious is not such a waste of time.

 

First of all I believe we can't know for sure. That's alright with me, but it doesn't seem to be with a lot of people. But yeah, it's called belief, even if nowadays lots of individual beliefs are formed as well by logic thinking (although it often seems not as logic for others :biggrin: ). Ah well, I guess that's nothing new now that I think of it...

I believe God is not directly focussed on us at all. God may have shaped this universe, but we're only a very very small part of it and even if our souls are part of God or come forth from his essence I'd say God is not primarly concerned with us but with the universe as a whole. I say God all the time because 'it' doesn't sound quite fitting to me, and God's absolutely not anything like us, and to me also more complex then just male or female.
I do believe there is some kind of afterlife but how we get there we just don't know. I like the idea that if we're enlightened enough we become a spiritual drop in the ocean of light but yeah, I got no clue. I certainly do not believe we will be judged by an conscious entity. Perhaps we don't even have to reach some kind of enlightened and the only condition to reach the afterlife is to die . Seems likely to me. But I'm just human and do not pretend I know any of these things for sure. Just a mixture of thought, intuition and perhaps a bit of hope, hehe.
I was raised christian by the way and although I did had a bit of the same attitude our angry thread starter has about indoctrinating childrens minds and give your responsibility over to God and stuff like that I can't blame my parents for those things. They think they did the right thing and my mom even find it sad today that I'm such a heathen . Religion can be a good thing and is not necessarily for cowards at all. It's a tad silly to believe something unconditionally just because it's from an organisated religion though. I think everyone should try to find their own spiritual way and no serious portrayal of God is ridicilous when it's your belief.

But common to what the Right refuse is our concern for the properly re-questionable "UNIVERSE". Is the universe the whole including Man extending For the Whole since the beginning of His situation? Or is the universe the whole for man's inclusive idealization of How it happened for progressive acceptance OR refusal of progress for this false social interaction?
