Ranger was There GD, we were there squeezed into nine blocks of heaven/hell. Everyone showed up but you. Now you come in and belittle our brother bc he is having difficulty getting his head back on.

Be warned!! This is my family in here and I am mighty protective of them. I am no bully, but I am a warrior and am always up for battle.

Ppl have no idea what we went through back then. If some of us left something it's bc we didn't need it. We take care of our own.

The Church Of The Good Earth was around for 15 yrs. We were the backbone of The Haight. Everyone that came through The Haight was at the GE one time or another.
GE funded The Diggers Free Store. GE hosted many a Love-In at Panhandle Park. Fed the ppl, had a daycare, and what I already named in the above post.

We were over 700 strong in our little neighborhood, The Haight. We were a family. We had meetings every month to keep peace within our circle and the neighborhood. The Sherrif would also come and have meetings with GE. We kept the 'streets clean' of rift raft that came to exploit our women and our freedom.

We were not as anarchial as The Diggers we were more of Peace Love and Rock n Roll. We did not create chaos but tried to subdue it. We weren't sitting around twiddling our thumbs, we were working towards a better lifestyle for the ppl of the world.

We showed it with our willingness to make changes in our own lives we set an example. Not with the strongarm tactics of the Diggers who would intimidate the store owners in the neighborhood to give them food, clothing ect. Emmitt was a large dude and could look rather frightening. On the other hand the shopkeeps liked GE bc we kept the crime off the street and out of the biz'ness'. We also paid for what we needed from the stores.

We walked with our heads and freek flags held high. We were busy clearing the path and building bridges to a higher consciousness, leaving the muck behind us and building our dream, making it a reality.

It became reality as we acomplished what we set out to do. It manifested for the ones that did the work, the ones who reached a certain place in their evelution of the conscious being.

What it boils down to is, we earned a mesure of respect for what we did acomplish and not put down for what we did not, it may not have been ours to acomplish, it may have been yours.

Some of us went through MORE then others, their burdens and life lessons to be grasped. Some carried the weight of others that were too week and bared the crunch. Some it wrecked physically some it took their minds. But whatever the Sacrifice they should be hornored and not ridiculed.

We came to gather here to regain our unity, what we still hold. We do not brag or boast but tell it like it was, we lived it. We are The Originals. We are not copies but the real thing, we came to share and open minds, to contenue our journeys in the quest for rightness and truth.

If you listen, you will hear, you will learn.

    Bright Blessings on your journeys
    sh

    Well said SH!

As to Rocky, he and my ex were friends having met in Austin Mental. Scorpio Kitten was the only one who could convince Rocky to start talking again when he wandered off into the music in his head. I know this because after we moved to the Haight a deligation came from the Elevaters to try and talk Kitten into coming back to talk Rocky out of Austin M. once more. She never said anything toward blaming his love of the music in his head on anyone, but himself. The impression I got was that he found his axe and his personal music better company than most people.

SH, now that you mention daycare, has anyone heard from or of Manny Frishberg?

I have not heard of Manny's whereabouts. Haven't heard about Jimmy Painter or Whitey, or even Spacey Stacy either. Still so many not accounted for. But there is always a chance they will google good earth and it will bring them here, or stp for that matter either way they will find us if they are looking.

Wishing us all a Brighter New Year

    SH/Nails

I saw Stacy up in Oakland living in the Old Hog farm house about 5 or maybe even 6 years ago I think maybe a little longer. The house was the one where the/a phone center had been set up many years ago and was a crash pad for truckers (thumb truckers that is and family members) kinda on the Berzerkley/Oakland City limit line. Not sure if you remember that house across the Bay.

Buzzy Lindhardt (a musician) was also living there at the time. Buzzy was getting sick then.

Not sure if anyone knew that Stacy was shown on T.V. a few times over the years at 49er Football games with his Intersteller Propeller Hats!!

Just a memory not sure it helps........................

Back from the Jungle and abyss again so Hello all to all!

I have also been in Touch with TL and he is in SF and is doing well.

    Peace/love all

Ranger good to hear from you too. You have such great knowledge and recollection of the ole daze. As I recall you kept your mind and body pretty clean of hard drugs and alcohol, good thing otherwise we wouldnt know shit about what we did back then. LOLOLOL

Nails it looks like you also mod the STP site?? Just an FYI that was where my original roots were from, not the GE. But as we all know over time the flos of different famlies mixed togather. Like different springs on a mountain bubble up and make small creeks that flo into other streams and then to rivers and then race to the Ocean where we all have room to go get lost settle into new places!!

Unlike Salmon tho we did not need to return to our original creeks to spaun!!

You have done a great job creating these sites for folks from the flos to find each other and reconnect and I want to thank you for that!

    Hi Chris,
I Mod this forum and all the threads herein. I also have a couple of other forums I Mod, but as a Super Mod., I have the ability to mod all the forums.

I ask to open the Garden esp for us, tho all of us are family, be whatever tribe, we were/are bothers and sisters and we hold a bond between us.

I missed that unity in my life, to connect once again, to smile upon each others hearts and wonder no more if it was all a beautiful dream we all dreamed, or was it mass hallucination.

When I found Hip Forums I thought it would be a cool place for us to connect. Like a switchboard. I had been trying to find my bros n sis's for ten yrs, I ran search after search and nothing on Good Earth Commune ever popped up.

I really clouldnt believe that there was no history on GE on the net. I was sorely dissapointed bc GE was huge and lasted so long and there are still branches of it's exisitence alive and well.

I am happy to have a place where we all can come and talk.

I knew you were STP, all the Wahs are STP I believe. We had Wahs, Down Home Nasties, STPers, Mother Fuckers, Hog Farmers, MorningStar ppl, Wheeler folk, Street ppl, White Panthers, Black Panthers, Wounded Knee, Rock Stars, all of them came through one time or another.

I think GE started with the 409 House on Clayton, Spacy Stacy ran it at that time if I remember correctly. I had been to the 409 house but I was not a resident till yrs later, but not at the 409 house, at Underhouse on Cole and Oak. Cliff, my husband at the time and Jomie's father stored some of his antiques in the basement and we would have to go in n out to get stuff he needed. We had a little shop over on Page St. between Cole and Clayton, but lost the lease bc of some hassle the owner had with some Hells Angel friends Cliff had. I was pregnant with Jomie at that time. We left SF and went down to So Cali where my folks lived and from there we went to WoodStock 69'.

We returned to SF after WS and me n Cliff parted ways. I was on my own for a yr or so and in 71ish I moved to Cole n Oak and the rest is history.

I hope more decide to show up. I love to hear the stories, they stir my soul. It brings back all that LOVE energy we all shared.

well so glad you put it up for all who want to/or can find and connect .

Fot at least 10/15 years I figured i would never be able to reconnect with many then I found one of your sites when some young one found me looking for STP.

It is great to have this ability! and again thanks.

And yes the WAHS were STP roots

I'm just happy to have the ones that do come in. I think more will trickle in. I like to hear all the adventures we took ourselves on. It was a Gas, Gas, Gas.

I believe there was a house on Fell St just west of Fillmore that may have been the first GE house. I went there once with Stacy and encountered a fuzzy hobbit like brother who had just arrived with a gunny sack full of magic buttons he had collected in the desert.
As to folks that came through GE at times let us not forget, Armed Love, AIM,13th Tribe, and yet others.

    Hey everybody, I declare,
Is that Spring I smell in the air,
Grab your shovel, rake and hoe,
And go down that there row.

When we get done with all that,
We can sit down and pass the hat,
We got enough, we need no more,
So who is drivin' to the beer store.

    It's 22 miles, so I've been told,
7 minutes, 45 seconds for beer to get cold,
Take the back roads to be cool,
And dont go in actin' a fool.

When you get back, we'll fry up some deer,
Have a few smokes and drink us some beer
We'll talk of old times and new ones to come,
We can sit in a circle and beat on a drum.

We'll play some tunes from the Greatfull Dead,
And make sure that our heads are fed,
Remember when that was the way
And we partied like that everyday.

    Now everybody's so far away,
And we're gettin' to old to party all day,
Well, at least not every night,
    Till the dawns early light.

    Sometimes it seems,
    Only a dream,
    We dreamed long ago,
    It was quiet a show.

It stuck to me over the years,
Through the laughter, and through the tears
The Street of Love they called Haight,
That brought us all to the Golden Gate.

And here we are in the now,
    Looking back and remembering how,
We helped each other along the way,
To grow into what we are today.
