Hiya was looking back at some of my old thread, and realised that it was a year ago this month, that i threw away my comb!! Here's that thread and you can see how my hair has changed!! http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=300076 Anyway what a journey it has been, learning the patience required to grow dreads. I love the fact that i now feel like i look like the person, that i thought i would as a child/teenager. I lot of it is down to feeling comfortable in my apperarance which makes me more comfortable. Anyway a lot of thanks has to go to SE for giving advice about the neglect route, as i feel that my dreads are unique, and haven't taken any of my energy away from doing the important things in life, like living rather than spend unneeded time faffing about with my hair. Anyway here's the pics: Cheers. Alexxx
why is it when people post pics im allways far more interested in taking a nose round their house than anything else. Very nice dreads btw mate.
Rock on dude, awesome progress for 1 year. Congrats....:cheers2: Just out of interest what are you washing them with?
pypes - you spot anything interesting about my house?!!! cheers guys, it such change from when i started!!
I use LUSH Cynthia Sylvia Stout can be found here: LUSH i find it makes my hair dry without it being to dry, and i wash anywhere from every day to weekly!!
Well! Glad you linked your old thread, which also linked back to the one before that Really interesting and inspiring and Wish there was a whole thread or section with "natural" timelines...still feel I have no clear idea about how these journeys go. You look very happy and real
even before i noticed how good the dreads lookled i noticed how happy you seemed with them ya got that natural dread glow goin on they did shrink a biyt but i bet theyve grown a bit too (since they reached terminal shrinkage) and from here on out year by year they'll just get better and better isn't it amazing to just let go, stop wasting youir time on fussing with your hair and let nature take its course? also, like ive said before, the average backcomber/twist n ripper makes several "help my dreads are_____" threads especialy in the 1st year ocassionaly with natural journies u do see one or 2 frustrated that theyre progreess isnt quicker, but in general with natural theres a far greatter sence of satisfaction and far less frustration (seeing as u hadnt posted any requests for advice in a year and really wasnt even thinking about yoir week by week progress) its amazing how time just goes by so quickly and 1 day you realize holy shit its been a year already? and damn look at this i have rteal dreads like magic they just a;ppeared srry babbling they look awesome id say good job, but its not like u did anything but let em happen so ill just say congrats on letting em happen so beautifuly
I didn't notice your house, just your dreads. They look very nice. And I agree with SE, you look quite smitten with them. Congrats! Happy dread birthday!
