hey guys i was just listing to this ill song called Dramamine by Modest Mouse and i was wondering what it was about, so i looked it up and its about some otc anti nausea medicine that contains Dimenhydrinate. that when taken at high dosages will cause auditory and visual hallucinations, has any one taken this drug or experimented with it, is it safe to try just once? any info would be awesome!
dramamine at high doses can cause delirium which isnt too fun. however, when mixed with dxm, it potentiates it greatly. i had a very intense dxm trip when i mixed dxm and dramamine.
i was reading the experience vault at erwoids and alot of people reported EXTREME open eyed visuals, also i have some stuff called Meclizine and from what i read online it produces the same affects
yeah meclizine is also known dramamine 2. if you got some dxm, take like 12 pills of the meclizine and take a low dose of dxm (like around 300-400 mgs) and you should feel good. the euphoria from the dxm along with the open eyed visuals from the meclizine will make it feel like a psychedelic experience.
not fun at all, please dont do it u will see things that arent there, talk to people that arent there, see little spiders every where and will just be delerious/ retarded for 8 hours. if u want OTC high stick to dxm

I think it's a anti-cholinergic (sp) similar to diphenhydramine. If that is the case, please be aware of the differences between tripping and delirium before you try it.
haha, what a great band =] but yeah, it does sound alot like diphenhydramine.. which most people (i myself included) find unenjoyable on high doses.. i say stick with DXM if your lookin for a good/great OTC high but seeing as how you already said you dont care about other peoples opinions ... by all means, go crazy (literally, other people will think your going crazy on this drug..) and that spider thing that one person said is completely true.. spiders and scorpions have to be the most commonly seen hallucination on this drug..
It is like Benadryl and there are plenty of posts on this site about the dangers of trying this. Use the search form, because I've repeated myself so much to people wanting to try antihistamines to get high, I'm kinda tired of typing it. It's dangerous and definitely no fun. It is not a "high" or a "trip" it's delirium which is very unpleasant and scary. Search the forums for "dimenhydrinate" and "diphenhydramine" and read the warnings. There are also plenty of people who have tried it that regret it, and you can read those too.

that songs kick ass. its not really about tripping off of dramamine though. its relating the confusion of a dramamine trip to the confusion of being in a relationship. well, thats what i got from the song. i mean, they do do a lot of drugs, but the song isnt as one dimentional as that. go ahead and do it, but if you just got the mezcline kind, i hear its like the weakest. diphenhydramine is twice as potent as dimenhydrinate. have you heard their song exit does not exist? that one seems to be deleriant induced as well.
