i would like to just paste the article, but i think it is good for us to be allowed to comment, so i'll follow the rules of the modocrat. finally something good from this asshole. if you know of local tv show's that air videos or local access stations, maybe you can request this video to be aired (before tuesday) especially mtv. everyone should call mtv and request it. this is the kind of thing that can lite a fire under youth...what do you think? Eminem's anti-Bush anthem http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2654122 Download "Mosh," the most powerful broadside against the administration since "Fahrenheit 9/11." - - - - - - - - - - - - By Michelle Goldberg Oct. 26, 2004 | With his history of homophobia and his long-running beef with MoveOn supporter Moby, Eminem is an even less likely lefty hero than Howard Stern. But the just-released video for his new anti-Bush song "Mosh," makes "Fahrenheit 9/11" look like a GOP campaign spot, and it will almost certainly reach an audience that wouldn't think of shelling out for a documentary. The beautifully animated video, which is directed by Ian Inaba, opens with a classroom. At the front is a man in a blue suit, his face buried in an upside down children's book that says "My Pet," with a picture of a bush. Just as the man is revealed to be Eminem, the scene changes, and we see the singer taping up newspaper stories to a wall -- "Sick Wounded Troops Held in Squalor," says one. "Civil Liberties at Stake," says another. "Bush Knew," says a third. In five minutes, Eminem manages a furious indictment of the administration that will likely resonate among many troops in Iraq as well as disaffected kids here at home. In one scene, a smiling soldier returns home from Baghdad, only to be handed a notice announcing that he has to go back. As Eminem sings, "fuck Bush," the soldier mouths the words. Inside is an eviction notice. As she reads it, we hear Eminem saying, "Maybe this is God just saying we're responsible for this monster, this coward that we have empowered." The woman looks at her TV, where Bush is speaking over a banner that says "Tax Cuts." She looks at her terrified children, then back at the screen, which says, "Breaking News…Terror Alert." It all ends amazingly earnestly, with Eminem leading a black-clad army to the voting booth. Once again, Bush proves he really does have wonder working powers -- by behaving even more callously and irresponsibly than the most outrageous rapper, he's turned music's foremost enfant terrible into a role model of civic engagement. Now we just have to see if MTV has the guts to air it.
I also made a thread about it in the "America Attacks" forum, yesterday. http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40557
Thinking about it, I think that this is just a publicity stunt of his to get the liberals on his side (only group left) and to sell a few more records.
ahhh all good news to hear! i question his integrity too, i mean listen to his songs. he gets into talk that i don't think he's walked. thats a low way to tap into kids pockets. but i souldn't get off topic, hats off to him for this!
I don't care for him or his music, but rather for the fact that he can so easily piss people off on both sides of the political and ideological spectrums. He's pisses off the ultra-PC liberals who think people should be silenced for speaking their minds, granted it goes against what they think is "right", as well as the bible-thumping conservatives who see him as some kind of satanist out to rape their daughters and demoralize everyone.
He's got other good ones besides this one. White America for one...at least I think that's the name of it. I haven't listened to the cd in a while.
I definitely don't think he did this to increase record sales, he's very well off and besides, is it so outrageous to think someone hates Bush? I also disagree that he is a spokesman for the left with this, it is just anti-Bush, not necessarily pro-left. I like Eminem. I've liked all his music. I don't think he's that bad of a person. He's an entertainer, people expect too much from artists, I mean, are you really going to be influenced by a rapper? I'm not concerned about being politically correct though, so he doesn't offend me.
I doubt he even votes. But I do have all his cd's....I like him, he's funny. But I definitely understand why other people don't like him.
I think that bands like Sum41, greenday, a perfect circle, and now eminem releasing politcal songs before the election is the entertainment equivelent to releasing horror movies before halloween or romantic movies at Christmas, it's just a way of boosting sales. Then again, the music industry has been gagged since that dixie chicks incident. P.S. this is what part of the alphabet would look like if q and r were eleminated.
he says he's voting this election... voting isn't the hardest thing to do so i don't quite get why you would question someone's ability to vote... certainly someone who could produce record albums and videos could figure out how to walk into a voting machine and pull levers
I never said that he was incapable, or too stupid. I don't really think bad of the guy. I grew up near him, know some of his buddies, even smoked a joint with him at a rave when I was younger (he stole it though , just walked away with it..) And I was right to say he doesnt vote, considering he just registered for the first time this election...
