especially when they don't work. Honestly, I'm really good at interp events in speech and debate. This sounds arrogant, but I know I'm the reason that my partner and I made it to state. Every judge says that I'm the better one, and shouldn't fix anything. Whereas my partner has a laundry list of things to work on. Now I just called her out on it, and said I don't want to work on the piece until Monday. This is because I was on a debate trip from the 12th-18th and it was very stressful and I just feel so done with the whole team. I don't like any of the people on it. And she's suddenly making a big deal out of practice. She never even memorized the script we've been using all year. I called her on it, and now she's saying that she doesn't want to do the piece. It's too late for me to qualify in any other events, and my senior year was basically wasted because of one person that refuses to work. Ugh.
You could try apologizing to her, or something, ya know sweeten her up to get her to come back and finish out the year, or whatever. I mean if you wanna be a total ass kisser, hey sometimes certain things gotta be done, even if it does suck!
Group activities are my least fav. I don't like depending on others to do their part. I most often take over.
i don't want to kiss her ass. she's the one losing out, sure I lost a state bid. But the thing is, I'm good. She isn't. I don't want to exert myself and turn out empty handed.
if i were you, id do something crazy like...doing it all myself...and winning...but, too late for that apparently...
the event we were doing is called "dual interp" so i'd be disqualified if it was just me. But I've done single interps and rocked at them, but sadly it's too late to qualify for any. Although I am qualified in oratory speaking and student congress, so I will still be able to do that.
