Does anyone else have a bad smoker's cough? I had a real bad one for awhile on a long run of green, but since I haven't had any the last month it went away. In the past 2 days I have smoked 3 small bowls. The bowl on the pipe I've been using is about the size of my index finger tip, so not a lot of weed per bowl, as opposed to my other pipe with a bowl about 3 times that size. After I smoked again, my cough has come back, despite my break. Anyone else have this problem? It's hard to be inconspicuous when you're hacking your lungs up all the time.
well even before i started smoking i always had a little bit of a cough off and on but smoking didnt make it any better/worse than it was. only smoke related coughing i get is when i take too big of a hit. i also try not to smoke tobacco at all...maybe an occasional spliff with some friends if we're all a bit low on weed but thats very rare
i've never had a smoker's cough, the only side effect i've noticed from a year of consistent weed smoking is a slight increase in phlegm production, like during the day there's more mucus in my mouth which doesn't even matter at all, i play soccer and run and it hasn't made it any harder
I never had any real problems with my lungs while I was only smoking weed. I sang in chorus all four years in high school without any real issue. I started smoking cigarettes on and off at the beginning of my freshman year and college and quickly found out how bad they are. I rarely smoke them and that is the only time my cough really comes back. Even if I find myself smoking weed several times a day, I don't have much of an issue. A lot of my friends take HUGE hits whenever a bowl gets passed to them and I think that may be part of the problem. They are inhaling hot smoke very quickly which will really hurt a novice smoker. If you have no problem smoking, then the cough may be something else. If you are cool with your doctor it wouldn't hurt to talk to him/her about it. Be honest about how often you smoke marijuana. While a majority of doctors will not advocate smoking marijuana, many see it as a low risk factor. I remember last time I went to my doctor he went through a list of questions from smoking cigarettes to riding in a car with an intoxicated driver. The only time he really looked up is when I said I did smoke marijuana. He just looked up and said "ok, well that's not as bad as a lot of those things" and kept going.
I get lugs from all the smoking I do(mostly tobacco with me being on probation) but I think I do have a little smokers cough as well. The craziest thing is I have to spit after almost every drag off of a cig. I produce more saliva or something.
Well, it's not comfortable to be coughing all the time. Plus, for my whole long stretch of weed I had 3 colds that lasted forever. I've been sick most of the winter, and now I'm having flu symptoms. I was fine up until I started smoking again. Wtf? This is medicine, why am I getting sick? I can't afford to go to a doctor, Marco and if I could I have much more pressing health problems that would have to come first.
It sucks when you live in a country without free healthcare.... I don't know how you guys can even vote for a government that says "fuck you, if you don't pay your not getting medicine". Thats bullshit. But yeah I have a cough, sometimes it's worse than other times. If I drink a lot of water I don't seem to have the cough..
I drink alot of water but it doesn't seem to help. I thought the month break would help but it didn't.
Don't even pull that. Socialized health care is nothing but sub-standard service for everyone. If you are very sick and go into any ER, they MUST treat you. In many countries with socialized health care see people waiting weeks to see a specialist and they spend hours in waiting rooms. If you stay out of the ghetto and go to a nice hospital where most people can afford treatment, many hospitals have a policy where they will only make you wait a max of 30 minutes. The US has a lot of programs to allow people to get their medications at almost no cost if they will take the generic forms. Therese Aline, if things don't get better, look into some of the local Urgent Care centers in your area (or whatever they call them). There are a lot of ways to get free healthcare if you are desperately in need of something. Edit: A quick google search for free health clinics in NC gave me this. http://www.ncfreeclinics.org/ Even in the small college town I live in (students get free basic healthcare from the school) they have a clinic that is open one day a week. If you do not get better, find a way to get this checked out.
its not always substandard... France's healthcare system is rated number one..Canada's is 30th....compared to the U.S at 37.....at least you would be assured healthcare and not at constant risk of being dropped off your insurance plan, that is if you can afford one. Is it right that profit is put before people in our system? and for the thread....i have somewhat of a smokers cough. I have a few coughs everyday. Its not enough to annoy me or anything.
