me. because I'd bring a gun. really though, if the martial artist knew his shit, he'd own the fuck out of even an incredibly good boxer.
yea boxers are strong and all... but you can go ahead and disregard muscles when your getting kicked in the face
Well depends on the style of martial art but in general if they were both average fighters the martial artist would win. The boxer has to worry about more: punches, kicks, knees, maybe even a few submission moves depending on the style. The martial artist only has to worry about punches ,doesn't mean that the martial artist would win hands down just that he can form a better strategy because he has more weapons.
I Think It Would Come Down To Who Scored The First Good Point. If The Boxer Made A Good Conection , Then You Most Likely Would Not See Which Way The Martial Boi Went... However If Martial Boi Connected First With Boxers Head (kick), Then You Most Likely Would Not See Which Way It Went. I Would Pay Good Money For A Ticket To The Fight Though.. Cheers Glen.
boxer overextends a punch, the way they are taught to,guy who knows any judo, grabs that boxers wrist, hits their elbow with their other hand, and throws mister boxer, and, probably kicks him in the face when he is down.
Boxer would lose bad, all he does is punch. He wouldn't know what the fuck to do with feet in his face and all the crazy shit a martial artist would be able to do.
You guys have been watching too many hong kong action flicks, it's all choreographed, a boxer would block everything a martial artist throws at them. Bruce Lee is the exception.
I assume you mean a ISKA Karate fighter who is actively training for fighting, which would strictly mean their training in kickboxing, not karate... if you took a black belt vs a boxer who trains for fighting, the boxer is going to murder the karate practitioner nine times out of ten. Karate's problem is kata. But kickboxing is a superior style. All it takes to throw a boxer off guard is to clinch and knee. If you want to see the styles collide watch; skip the first 3 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdevROfjpgc
1. "You watch too many hong kong flicks... Bruce Lee is the exception." What?! 2. A boxer is a martial artist.
Yeah you're right, because my friend, who's a boxer, did fight a black belt in karate, and completely kicked his ass, the karate guy couldn't touch him.
That says more about the training than the styles. Most boxers train by full contact sparing. Most training is rehearsed kata's which are almost useless, and most karate sparing is light point sparing which is worthless. But karate is a superior style, and a karate fighter training full contact to be a kickboxer would be at least an even match for a boxer. I'd put 2-1 on any SEA (lethwei, muay thai) fighter versus a boxer. I'd take an MMA guy over either of those. And someone who trains heavily in krav maga who'll throat gouge you over any UFC fighter. I mean it's really a silly argument. Substance over style, and that's why a boxer who trains to fight will beat a karate practitioner who does not. Some karate practitioners train to fight, and they're extremely bad men.
