Does anyoen else here feel that this is a really bad ass show? It's proof that there still is GOOD television out there. The show is absolutely halarious, it's a little like the simpsons, but its funny as hell, mocking everything and going farther than the simpsons would ever dare. Check it out if you havent seen it, find a friend who has the boxed episodes set. It's well worth it.
That show really takes the cake...it's one of the only shows on television that I watch anymore. Holly
Yea, it is awesome. So fucking awesome! I like the episoade where Stewie is trying to auction for that 'death cannon laser capable of enslaving the human race' but he's too short and they can't see him and they toss it into the incinerator. I think it was the "Luke Perry is Gay" episode. So fucking funny.
It makes sense that it's similar to the Simpsons, Josh Weinstein was a writer for the show, and is a writer for Family Guy. Seth MacFarlane is also a writer/creator of the Guy and is fucking hilarious. Josh also writes for another of my favorite shows, Mission Hill. The satire and social commentary on the show is great; it's total genius. You really have to be well versed on everything entertainment to understand a lot of the show. I loved when Peter takes out Lois' dad and his friends (Ted Turner, Bill Gates, Michael Isner) and they do that "Dazed and Confused" segment on the football field. "This guy's deep, where'd you find him?". lol I also love when they talk about the passages in Genesis that talk about God telling Abraham to kill his son Isaac, and it turns to a scene on the Love Boat and Isaac Hayes is shot by Abraham Lincoln. That was fucking classic! Or the Dukes of Hazard thing during the witness protection episode (paraph.)"Yeah, and we can go hang out with Daisy and Anus" --"That's Emus" -- "Oh what'd I say?" -- "Anus.". lol Even still, I'd have to say that Futurama is much better on the overall. It's strange how the 6 degrees of seperation thing works with the design/cartoon business world. Matt Groening is a creator/writer of the Simpsons a show on Fox, and also created Futurama which also aired on Fox for a time, who also worked with Josh Weinstein a one-time writer on the Simpsons, who wrote/co-created Family Guy which was once on Fox, which then became syndicated on Cartoon Network, as did Futurama, while another writer and co-creator of Family guy, Seth Macfarlane once worked for Hannah Barberra, which has 6 shows airing currently on Cartoon network including 3 for which Seth Macfarlane once worked, also including 2 during "Adult Swim", while another show co-created by Josh Weinstein, Mission hill, plays during Adult Swim just after Futurama and Family Guy(or did). I guess it's not that crazy, seeing as H.B. is one of the largest cartoon creators and has been since the seventies. Invariably a company like that would hire will-be genius writers, and will have most of their shows featured on a network specializing in cartoons. Those fucks at Fox fired Josh and Seth because their show was too risque, but because they got such incredibly high ratings in syndication they are bringing it back. I'm happy that they're bringing it back, but for christ's sake, don't take something off the air that is this intelligent and poignant, and then bring it back shamelessly when you realize how big a fucking mistake you made! "Oh, but the people love Fear Factor, sir!". "At last, I've fouuuunnnnddd a Jeeeewwwwwwww!".
Yep kicks ass I only watch cartoons on tv anyway it sucks so much at the mo and allways deppresses me ... Films & Cartoons i wish all tv was that.
MY fav line from Family Guy. (I can never remember character's names) The Dog says to the dad, when the dad was really upset and wanted the dog to console him. "Hey, I'd like to help you out, but I have to go out in the hallway and chew on the back of my ass for about 20 minutes."
the show is probaly going to get new episodes by May. I really love the show, except for some of the Mad TV like humor (due to the fact that Alex Borstein is a writer). There are so many jokes crammed into each episode that if a few aren't funny it doesn't matter. The show is also very much like the Simpsons because there are some jokes that only some people will get however, the Simpsons does a better job of making these jokes less significant. I guess what I'm trying to say is the show kicks ass but Simpsons is better for a wider range of people and even possibly just plain better P.S. Seth McFarlane is coming out with another cartoon called American Dad
Family guy is AWESOME!!! i like most of the shows on adult swim... that's like the only shit i watch on tv... well and the world series of poker.
Stewie rules! My favorite episode is the one where Peter gets sent to this camp for sexual harrassment. So hilarious.
So many good episodes, can't wait till it starts up again Here's my fave quote: [Riding a circus elephant] Peter Griffin : Look Lois, the two symbols of the Republican Party: an elephant, and a fat white guy who is threatened by change.
What makes Family Guy so good is you watch it once and you forget the funny stuff, and you just watch it over again just to forget the jokes again
Peter:"I'd sell my soul to be famous." Devil: "We've got a live one here." Devil's aid: "No, it turns out he sold his soul in 1977 for Bee-Gees tickets,... and then again in 1983 for half a Mallomar bar." Peter to Al Gore: "What's your friends name?" Al Gore: "Dick Army." Peter to Dick Army:"Ahahahaha! No really what's your name?" Dick Army: "Dick Army." Peter: "Hahahaha! What's your wife's name, Vagina Coastguard?" (silence) Al Gore: "Ohh-hoh,... hahaha I get it!"
