Has anyone ever tried the satellite TV for PC? I'm considering purchasing it but I've been seeing a lot of websites that say it is a scam. What are your experiences with it? Let me know because I don't want to get ripped off.:sifone:
Ive had Dish DSL. and it sucks,, stick with the Land-line Cable or phone and get your own wireless router.. Cellular DSL is good though and Ive got a really cheap service. Only works in my area but its all I need.
no I'm not talking about internet. I'm talking about the online satellite tv that you can buy and watch cable from your computer.
ahhh, dont you already have it?? Everything, just about everything thats on TV is on the internet, I dont watch alot of stuff cause it chews up resources.. but you can send a PM to BBAD PM <link ,he knows some of the satellite stuff. he might be able to help..
If you are talking of the online tv that may be (incorrectly) called satellite tv, some of them are pure junk and some are alright. Get a list of all the channels available and check that they will acually have programming that you will like before paying for them. If they won't give you a list of every channel available then walk away. I have never used this type of service but I have seen reports on them. Another factor is video quality, some are just horrible (like youtube quality and worse) and some of them just link you to free internet channels that you can get for free directly from the channels website. If you want to know about getting real satellite tv on your computer, then you will need a DVB-S or DVB-S2 receiver (both are available as a PCI card or USB2.0) and a satellite dish. This I know quite abit about and could help you to more information about it if needed.
I enjoy watching TV from around the world. A lot of stuff you can watch online for free: http://guzei.com/online_tv/?lang=de http://www.free-internet-tv.org/news/FTV-main.htm http://wwitv.com/ x
I guess I'm old fashioned,I prefer watching tv on a television.Watching it on a computer ruins it for me.
yeah but I need to know if they are legit because I owe my cable company like $300 because my old "friend" who used to live with me skipped out on the rent and cable payment. So now I'm going crazy because I can't pay the cable bill and it has been shut off. I can purchase over 2000 channels including local.
for $50 and thats it no more monthly fees. But I don't want to get scamed so I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or had experiences with it. here is the link http://dtv4pc.net
You should hold off. TV for the computer is not very impressive. The technologies are not up to par with current cable TV technologies. I'd save up $50 for 6 months and pay off the cable bill. It's the right thing to do and will make you feel better about it anyway. You can always buy a cable card for your computer. Then plug your cable TV line into the computer and watch TV like that.
Yes, that would probably the best thing to do. How much are the cable cards? That was a great idea thank you.
ok so I was just looking at the cable cards. It seems there are a few different types but the one I'm interested in is the kind that just plugs into the usb outlet in the compter and it comes with a remote for $45. http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-TV-US...f=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1235688725&sr=1-12
This one does look convenient and easy to use. I'll go ahead and say that USB data speed is not considered fast enough for video feed, much less video/audio feed. It would either be really low quality, or choppy. Firewire (IEEE 1394) is considered fast enough for video. Not all computers support Firewire in stock form, though you can install a Firewire card. It would probably be best to install a PCI cable card if you have a desktop computer. This would provide plenty of speed and quality. Here's one with remote for $17 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815276002 Something from this list could be what you need http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380047 1685342847&name=Tuner Card
awesome, I'm getting it installed at best buy for $50 I will be saving so much money. Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated.
