Does this sound like acid?

My friend found this thing in his brother's room and it's wrapped in foil.

It's kinda like a tootsie roll, but fatter, shorter and a dark brown/black.

I thought I saw a picture of something similar on this forum...and I really have no idea what it could be.

Can anyone identify? I'm hoping to take a pic soon so I'll be able to post it up. More details soon.

Yeah after I thought about it I figured it was hash, but I'm not sure.
His bro went off to college (comes home once and a while), and he is going to ask him about it but if it's drugs he doesn't want his mom to hear him on the phone or at the dinner table or something.
