I have loved the incredible string band for few years now and still remember when i found my first Incredible string band album when i was 14 years old .... Original copy of 'the 5000 spirits or the layers of the onion' for cheap price at this record shop .... through the years i have found more and was so happy when i found 'The hangman's beautiful daughter' with the original text sleeve inside .... anyway there are still 3 albums i have never found with them and would love so much to have and so i ask you if you have any informations about them? they are not so hard to find i guess but i can't buy through ebay so all informations would be very nice .... the albums i want : Wee tam & the big huge changing horses be glad for the song has no ending all informations would be so nice to have
I always loved them! But haven't heard much lately. I'm informed though that they did a reunion gig last year - so maybe more to follow - let's hope so! Big Huge, Wee Tan and above all Changing Horses are brilliant, although CH is very different in style from the other two. I can't give you any info about the availability of any of these on CD, but you might find copies of the records.
I have only the album Liquid acrobat as regards the air on lp. Actually it belongs to my parents I have a few other albums on mp3, but not really with much info, sorry.
If you are after these ISB albums on vinyl, Ebay.com will probably be your best bet, I know the CD's appear quite regularly and are also easy to pick up second hand or cheaply on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk Wee Tam is pretty high on my CD wants list as I have 5000 Spirits... and Hangman's...and they are both all time favourite albums of mine
i already have all Incredible String Band on cd .. have both Wee Tam and The Big Huge on cd and also a copy of Changing horses on cd but i have been looking for them on vinyl and they are very hard to find here where i live ..... anyway maybe next time i travel somewhere i can find their albums on vinyl that i don't have
Although it's not on your vinyl want's list at the beginning of the thread, I just remembered that Sundazed re-issued the first ISB album recently on vinyl from 1966 when Clive Palmer was still with them. Do you have this album Son Of Adam and if so what do you think of it, as it's another of theirs I'd be keen to pick up myself. I have Clive Palmer's "Spirit Of Love" that he made in the early 70's as Clive's Own Band which I absolutely love
I have a copy of the first Incredible string band album they made with Clive Palmer and i would recommend you to buy it soon as you find a copy .... it's much different from their other works ... much more just traditional celtic folk music and so many beautiful songs ... now when wintertime is coming and it's getting cold then it's so nice to listen to this album .... i would recommend it and it's beautiful listening to it on vinyl and looking at the beautiful album sleeve ...
Thanks! ISB - S/T will be top of the Christmas wish list to give to the wife alongside C.O.B's Moyshe McStiff and The Tartan Lancers' album
