Ziggy Marleys Dragonfly is good. I liked how he stayed true to himself and didnt try to follow in his fathers footsteps.

And ooo...what about Mizz Lauryn Hill. I know she's not reggae but shes married to One of the Marleys and she's absolutely incredible. Check out the Lauryn Hill unplugged series....she's off the hook! So talented and real.

the only thing i can add to the the thing you mention mandyland is they are now called Rastifari... just learned this today because the babilyons are now calling themselves Rastafarians... I guess its a big insult to them now. but good information youve taught me something today.

On another note check out them reggae stations that was posted second. Pretty cool stuff

whaaat. i thought they just like being called rastas anyway cause they dont like ism's or something. whats with babylon? i could see why they would take that offensively.

Honestly Im not sure... It has something to do with how they think christian faith is wrong and the real jesus was black because Queen something or other had kids with David or something and the real jesus is old king of Ethopia... Ill ask someone at college how the story goes... im sure itll make a lot more sense if i get the names right

Black Uhuru and Burning Spear have occupied most of my reggae listening at this time. While it is not my ideal genre of choice, I do enjoy it- and a variety is what prevents boredom.

I belive they are just against any kind of ism, which is very smart. "To define is to limit."

babylon as its used today repressents all the currupt government systems.
babylon control gonbe down, basicly means all the currupt systems of the world will crumble and fall allowing the people to once more be free.

someone else could explain the biblical refference, i tried reading that book, and got into a section bout who begot who and how long they lived and gave birth to who (and each one lived a thousand years or more) (and im pretty sure brothgers married sisters and stuff too) and it just made absolutely no sence and was page after page of mind numbing nonsence so i gave it up for good.

i think thaogh that babylon was a powerful yet currupt city that god destroyed for some reasson

but today theres no city known as babylon, so its used as a metaphor, for all curupt controlling societies that limmit the freedoms of the people.
or at least thats my understanding of it.
bychanting down babbylon control you alow the people to rise out of slavery to the system and live free ..unopressed
