I get so depressed about this world...

I want to be free to live how i want, not a slave to the US government and have to go to years of school and pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to eventually get it returned to me, maybe... to live off of.

I live in the suburbs of chicago and its just so damn boring and depressing and everwhere you go theres advertisements of different ways to spend the money that you dont have!

This all blows the big cock and i want either out for good or out of this area. Fuck

Your going to die "eventually" why not enjoy life in whatever way feels good right now and then you can die when your body is ready too. Or save up some money, get a ticket to india, and live for really cheap for a good amount of time. Always wanted to do that :)

Come live in the wilderness with me, we'll hunt and forage for food and live in a tee pee and pray to buddah and smoke weed.

I know exactly how you feel, i keep going through this shit...

and India sucks. If you want to live in a filthy shit hole full of hopeless people, you should do so when yore ready, but not when youre depressed...

If you die, you won't be able to legalize marijuana! You have to much to live for. for Christ's sake, you are 18. You have a whole lifetime ahead of you....

Stop it ... you are 18 and have no responsibilities. You look like you are well off. Lighten up a little... enjoy life. It looks like you have everything handed to you on a silver plate. Quit school if you don't like it however it sounds as though you like to shop so you know you need a good education to make good money to buy the things you so desire.

You're problem is that you don't know what it is like to be hungry... to go without.

You want to start feeling better about yourself, why don't you volunteer to help those that are less fortunate. You live in Chicago? You have lots of neighbors in need of help.
Work a soup kitchen ... feed the homeless .... see how they live.... try to understand where they are coming from. Help out in a hospital. See how some people really live… be compassionate of others… stop worrying so much about yourself. Maybe you can learn a little something about life, love and the pursuit of happiness. Perhaps then you won’t want to kill yourself. You have no idea the affects you have on others. Do waste yourself away ... you have too much to offer.

Peace (and don't kill yourself... it's not worth it)

Suicide would be the ultimate admittance that you have been beat by the system.
Leave the area, if you feel so passionately.

Huh thats an interesting idea. If you really were planning on doing suicide, that means you have nothing to lose. If thats true, then you could really do something to change humanity and be remembered in history. Like all assasins, they will have a place in history. So go do something to change the world, take revenge for this country of president bush or take out kim jong ill, or kill that crazy radical who has power over there in Russia. The possibilities are endless!

well if that's what you want to do you still have your whole life, but you see if you died then you wouldn't have any time to even get the chance to travel

I doubt you'll consider yourself, but if you decide to do so then consider using a chainsaw.

I think you should save some money and take off travelling around the world.

I also felt trapped in the UK by possesions, work v's cost of living and the pressure to buys stuff that I didn't want!

I left the UK in 2001 with a Plane tkt from UK to Australia stopping off in several countries and only about US$2000, I lived on that and travelled for 6 months and then got a job in Asia teaching English - taxes are low I saved a lot of money in 6 months working and travelled again for another 7 months!

I still live in Asia now, I feel free to do and go where i like, nobody bothers me. I have good friends in several countries. I can make good money and only usually have to work about 20-25 hours a week to make a decent living, unless I want to save for another trip and I take on extra hours and save like a crazy person.

I spent last summer surfing in Bali, spent a year travelling and living in a van in New Zealand.

I think I'd also be depressed if I lived back in the UK or the States, where life is supposed to be good, but just seems like a long crappy struggle with bad weather! LOL!

Hope this gives you some hope and some ideas about how to get out of your rut and doing something your happy with.

hehe hop in the boat acousticpeace, us overly dramatic hippy people can tour the world together, I hear these type of worrisome emotions are with us till were atleast 30...or maybe 50? or maybe our entire life? nah it couldnt last that long, i can see why people choose the easy way out and swallow 20 vicodon and then head to bed.

aahhh good wisdom. Thailand always seems to draw my attention for some reason, probably because you can get those incredible buddhist monk tattoos for a couple dollars :D But the idea to get away is so appealing. Find the cheapest countries to visit and live without self restriction for a few months sounds so great!

your 100% wrong about india, well maybe 90%
indias economy is surging, its people are vibrant, smart and hard working. Their culture is deep and rich. A lot of it is a filthy shit hole. The golden quadrilateral is better than americas highway system and a hell of a lot of big companies will have moved there by the end of the year.

I have been to calcutta with the hope foundation and i have seen what the people are going through there. There is a lot of poverty, disease and orphans but the majority of people there are incredibly strong willed and kind people.
There is a lot of untouched beauty to india, specially in the mountains. At least visit a place before judging it
