It's a preventative measure to help insure against me or my family ever becoming a victim. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Furthermore, it is an American freedom that I choose to participate in. That is all. Nothing too outrageous.

Well if you lived in Pennsylvania, specifically Erie County and had a nice rack (tits)...you would have walked out of the courthouse with permit in hand.

It's our 2nd amendment right to bear and keep arms.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I don't want to carry a gun, I'm thinking more for home protection. I do want to take a class to learn how to use it though. With crime rates going up in my area, just seems like a good idea. Hopefully just pulling it out and threatening someone would be enough to scare someone out of my house bc I don't know if I would have the nerve to actually fire it.

I had to take a course to prove my abilty to handle a weapon. It is a good idea whether you will carry in public or not.

What kinda pistol you gonna carry? Me personally, I prefer a nice make of the 9mm. Even though I'm a guy, I would have no problem with carrying a hammerless .38 stubnose, sleek pistols.

not big on double action revolvers. the trigger pull is too inconsistent during the pull. I like the baretta .40 or Glock .40 They seem to be the most accurate, have good sights, and trigger pull is very uniform and slight.

NY is horrible and of course NYC is even worse. NY state is a 20 out of 100 on the firearms freedom scale.

Nice, I'll get a permit one day as long as I don't do anything too stupid. If I were you I'd get a revolver, for concealment I'd go for a body guard style .38 special from S&W.

Ha, I'm not a HUGE fan of glocks, just an ugly design if ya ask me although I've seen some pretty nice ones before.

AND, without guns you'd truely find out what evil really was.

    1. if you CAN still scare someone with a gun, it can be de-escalated through other means.
    2. more people are killed by guns they keep in their house for protection than are killed by people who break into their homes
    3. anywhere respectable you go to learn anything about guns will teach you to ONLY point a gun at something you intend to kill or destroy, always treat the gun as though it is loaded, never fire a downrange where there is a person

Seriously? you are not ready to own a gun, and will not be unless you SERIOUSLY rethink your understanding of what a gun is for.

yeah, the look of a glock has to grow on you. I get that. I just like the way it shoots. Very accurate.
