    never really got into sleep. i'm more of a sludge guy, less doom for me... unless it's Monarch

    I listened to Sleep's album for hrs and hrs once.....kick ass stuff :)

    Just started listening to sleep, great stuff, very heavily influenced by Black Sabbath i can tell.

    Long live heavy metal :)

    Oh, come on. They aren't THAT bad. Though I've found Sleep's Dopesmoker to be an amazing album to fall asleep to.

    Then again, if you ask me who my favorite band in the scene is, I'd probably have to answer Boris. Which is nice, since I saw them front and center in Atlanta :) Amplifier worship = yes.

    Black Math Horseman's got a pretty cool song on the Teepee records sampler though. Check it out, it's on their website.

    They have decent riffs but the vocals really turn me off and the riffing isn't strong enough to make up for it IMO. But yea, Sleep is pretty much THE stoner doom band.

    im a big fan of Boris too, Smile was my 2nd favorite album of 2008

    Meh, personally that's not the direction I like my stoner and doom metal to go. But to each their own of course, they're just not really what I look for. Boris is my favourite of that list.
