you may get this question alot but what is a good wax removal im two months into the process maybe give some wisdom
theres a wax removal thread but theres 3 schools of thouight on wax removal melt it out heat over 140 farenheight its dangerouse hot so be veryu careful then theres emulsifying, im no chemist so ill just repost what i hear tons and tons of soap will emulsiphy alittle wax borax may do more again though theres a limmit to how much it can do per aplication then theres dissolving it i believe orange oil should help it dissolves glues and tars so should dissolve wax as well but u may need alot or strong concentrations so, your best bets probly a combination of all (im not ceratian you shopuld combine borax with orange oil might be best used in alternating steps heat can help in all cases to liquify the wax and hopefully some will find its way out anfd float away harmlesskly but it cajn also melt throughout the dread so again repeateed tries maty be needed to get as much out as u can (maybe squeezing the luiquified wax ? not sure if that will forvce it to the surface or cram it into the center im just guessing at some since i never waxed, and trying to maker educated guesses on others experiences and theyre more knowledgable input the best way, if your not too far in to the journey woul,d be to comb em out and clean em up good and strart over but i wouldnt dare say that to anyone more then a month in but thats really the best way to be absolutelyy sure once your further in to the process all u can do is try your best, and keep trying lomg after u think u got it all just to be safe
oh well i only waxed like four times well i waxed all of my dreads four times thanks for the input man im doin that one that u suggested in another thread the one with tea tree, salt, baking soda, and lemon peace
Good post, sharing knowledge to all SE =) This seems like a good place to ask. I have not a wax problem, but my hair seems to feel very slightly 'sticky' lately... or more like there is residue I should say. Water and Bronner's in bar form is all I've ever used. I have been rinsing everyday now in hopes to be free of it, but to no avail. For a while I was only washing once every month and a half. It felt so greasy and horrible but I cared not. Now I am left to pick up the pieces, so I think that might've had something to do with it. Any word of advice, SE?
ahwash more often..i preffer luiquid diluted alot and if its alotta greasy buildup a apple cidarr vinagar rince (diluted, like a couple capfulls to a quart or so) will strip alot away then make thyme tea put in a spray bottle spray it on the scalp leave it on wash at least weekly look in the herbs for your head thread for more u can also try an acv thyme infusion, weak on the acv though and use as a rince wouldnt leave the acv in too long tho thyme will help it produce less oils and acv will strip away buildup also try alternating soap 1 week deep cleanse the next (see 1st post in wax sticky)
Thank you, friend. I will give it a few more good scrubbing, rinsing, and soaking to see if I can't get it out. If not, then I'll try that apple cider vinegar rinse- also the thyme tea. I'll take a look at the suggested threads, thanks for your time Soaring Eagle.
