Need a hand identifying these guys please

Hey all

Someone I know just bought these guys.. they weigh 16 grams all dried up but he has no idea what kind they are... He thinks they're gold caps (cubensis?) but he'd love it if someone could confirm plz! Thanks in advance, peace!

they look like legit mushies to me. do you have a reason not to trust the guy you bought em from? if not i say chow down

 

They are most likely cubes. 16 grams? Cracker dry? Just seems a little heavy.

No reason at all not to trust him. They're just very different in size from the first batch. I know there are lots of diff types out there but thought I'd double check and read up a bit on them before telling my bud to chow away

 

They look like cubensis to me,

Yeah those are definitely cubensis, you can tell by the blue marks, but yeah that really doesnt look like 16 grams dried, did you weigh them yourself or did the guy tell you they were 16 grams? If so try to get them weighed toknow the real weight

 

Cubes -> 5.5 - 9.5 grams

 

No, you can't, and this is the kind of advice that gets people killed. What if he decides to go pick some and eat them just cause they bruise blue? It very well could be a poisonous species. You need way, way more info to ID mushrooms, and once they're dry it's damn near impossible.

I'll say that I've seen a lot of Cubes, dry and wet and those look right. I'd eat them. But like others have said, it's definitely not 16 grams.

 

All right... there were a few smaller ones that were removed out of the bag for the pic, and 16 was including those. Apologies for the confusion. The scale seems ok though as 10ml of water weighed in at 10g.

those are either wet or super dense..

but i couldnt promise you. but i would bet a little money on it, though.


those are some large mushrooms, but i'm skeptical that they are properly dried.

make sure the scale is properly tared before weighing, and do not weigh the bag.

my guess: they're wet inside.

fully dried mushrooms don't vary much in density, unlike weed. either they're wet in the middle, or its a problem with the weighing. possibly both. but to be fair, they are large mushrooms.

 

oh my god i haven't laughed that hard in a while

 

he may not be weighing the bag. if he tared the scale with the bag, empty of mushrooms, on it, the scale would consider the weight of the bag to be 0g. then he could put the mushrooms in the bag, put it back on the scale and weigh it.

 

looks like a good time to me.

 

Hehe yeah the bag was tared even though its weight seems pretty insignificant...

Although by far no expert, they don't feel wet inside... they feel pretty damn hard!
