actually the Bush admin decided it was the DEA that reigned supreme over all state laws.. and that's when california and other states were having so many problems with the DEA... its good that the Attorney General decided that the DEA has better things to worry about than busting people that are LEGALLY possessing marijuana
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have a Drug Enforcement Division (first link). The second link is to the National Anti-Drug Strategy campaign. Source(s): http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/de-pd/index-en... http://www.nationalantidrugstrategy.gc.c...
half of the problem with that shit was the state and local police wouldnt force the law. when the dea broke in and "confiscated" a dispencery the state and local police should have arrested them for b & e and burgalary
sad, but true thats why im happy i live in Canada, its alot more accepted, although i think if your underage you can get in more trouble
Not to mention that when the DEA conducted raids on dispensaries in California, the state and local police were often used to secure a perimeter while the DEA collected evidence inside. Most of the cops were visually upset by what was going on and some were vocal about it when asked by reporters. Cooperation with local authorities is what makes local laws decriminalizing marijuana a success. If the DEA want to do something big in a city with decriminalization, they don't have any local friends when they go in to help them.
