I get up this morning, and am headed to the doctor because my throat feels like a giant toad has inhabited it --- I get in my car and find 1) a jacket that I've never seen before and 2) all my stuff has been pillaged through. Yikes! Did they take the bills that I had left in there? NO. Did they take the digital camera? NO. Did they take the warmer jacket or sweatshirt that were in there? NO. What did they take? A cup full of change. I'm just hoping it was someone who needed the change. And needed the shelter from the rain. Otherwise, I'm just weirded out that someone was AT my house, IN my car and went through all my stuff. :& As I said, I'm hoping that it was someone who needed the money and shelter...And that they don't need their jacket wherever they are now. Gina.
I don't want to sound rude but you leave personal stuff and documents in your car; are you an idiot? sorry had to be said never ever do that, it takes under 10 seconds to break into most cars and identity theft is a whole lot easier if they can conviently take a few of your personal documents {identity theft is where they are able to prove they're you make heaps of money and leave you with the bill} . Just warning ya
You should lock your car more often... hmm... he/she was probably homeless or traveling. They could probably use the change more than you could. Maybe they left the jacket in exchange.
Feel free... just add her image to your sig with the immortal words "Member of the Pink Floyd Fan Club"... and welcome...
Yeah, in general I'm an idiot. In my own defense, I live in a place where lots of people don't even lock their homes, so an unlocked car door isn't exactly uncommon. As for the documents and mail --- It was a couple of bills (not taken) and some junk mail, a resume...nothing with information enough for someone to theive an identity for themselves. Besides, my credit is shot thanks to my divorce so it's not like they'd get much out of that anyhow. AND --- my car is now free of detritus, locked, and is going to be staying in the garage at night. I may be an idiot but not an unteachable one. Thanks.
Dito to what he said. to stay on topic, next time rent it out to the homeless, and don't leave stuff in there
when i was 16 i woke up one morning, started my car to go to school then heard someone yelling... a drunk old lady had decided to sleep under it for the night
well it sounds like you've had enough without this happening to you but I'm pleased you're keeping it in the garage, hate to see anyone here have their identity stolen it would be so weird they're not you but are you but you have to pay for them who are you, man you would have one helleva a headache
i had a man try to jump in my car at a red light once, to make a long story short the door wasnt locked so i slung myself out into the intersection and cut off this truck, i figured it was better to get hit by the truck, than shot, kidnapped or raped by this big weird dude! anywhoo that bitch fell to the side of the street and I rode off as fast as i could.
Spooner --- That's hysterical! Well, it is now...it probably wasn't then, but now... funny as hell. Gina.
I went away on vacation. I left my car unlocked in my driveway. I never lock my car. I even left the key in the ashtray. When I got back two weeks later my car had been violated. Someone stole the ignition key. Nothing else. The car was in the same location and had not been moved (I am short and no one can get in the seat without moving it and they could not get it back to the original spot). Seriously, nothing else had been taken. I thought it was hilarious. I still don't lock my car... what's the point? They have the key. I really didn't worry about it. I wonder why they didn't steal the car -- probably because it is crappy.
I always say that anyone masochistic enough to steal my car can have it, but I do lock it, partly force of habit from living in los angeles my whole life, and partly cause I like the CD's in there.
I wonder what would happen if you left a truck with the bed full of gay porn mags and videos parked on the curb of a main street for a week...
