My vote goes to Nas - ******/Untitled Album. I dont even think an explanation is necessary, it's not even close.

nas' album was good. for me it's a toss up between carter III and L.A.X.

ludacris' 08 album was pretty different and original as well.

Those were some of my favorite albums in 08'. Nas is my favorite rapper of all time, but Untitled was extremely weak compared to the albums I listed imo.

If i had to choose a favorite album for the year it would have to be Artofficial - Fist Fights and Foot Races, although The Roots were a close second.
