Is there any way I could possibly hide a lip piercing from my parents?? I'm assuming just taking it out around them isn't an option as it would close up.

well, you could always use a clear ring. when i put mine in it just looks like a really bad black head.

You can't wear it more than 24hrs straight. any longer than that and it will start breaking down.

yeah they sell retainers at the mall and stuff for lip rings, i would wear them when i had gym class and sports games. you can wear that during the day, and take it out at night and put your normal one in, just you'd have to buy a few if you're going to wear it long term because they do fall apart they're just made out of plastic. just be careful switching them because it could infect your piercing, and could make it scar bad when you have it healing

How about you just wait until you're allowed to?

I can guarantee you won't have it for more than a week if you think you're gonna pierce it with a safety pin and some rubbing alcohol, and then keep switching between a retainer and regular jewelry when you go to school, so all yr friends can see yr UBER COOL, festering, crusty, red ass swollen lip ring.

I was an angsty teenager once [some would argue I still am], and pulled all that same bullshit with my parents. And every piercing I did, they found out about [parents aren't that dumb], and made me remove. I don't know who you think yr fooling.

Yeah, I mean, come one. Give it a rest. Some things you just have to do for yourself.

If you ever plan on being a professional model, it's best you do not pierce anything that would show on camera. facial piercing come out as big black holes in pictures, very unattractive and agencies wont work them unless they need someone pierced.

    just my 2 cents worth.

i've had both sides of my lips pierced and in photos you can't tell that i've had the one side done, even professional ones. it depends on if you take care of them or not

"Take care of" meaning don't change the jewelry over 9000 times a day so mummy and daddy don't see it.

Yes and no, I'm very prone to scarring and almost two years after taking my monroe out you can see where it was, same with every earring.

Yeahh, switching out newly pierced jewlery is horrible for the peircing as in it makes it really easy to get infected. I atleast leave a piercing in for 3-ish weeks before I gauge or change rings. Plus I've done 3 of my own piercings, all have turned out great, never got an infection that I can remember. You don't need a professional if you KNOW what the fuck you're doing. IV needles ftw.
