Ok, In my dream I had last night, my boyfriend asked me whats it's like to be in love with someone, and this is what I told him... "You would walk in the snow for miles for them, without any shoes on." What about you? If you were asked the same question what would be your answer? Blessings xxx
I think being in love with someone means you can imagine growing old with them and not being afraid of it.
Ideally yes, but that's totally impractical in my opinion. Love to me is thinking of another before oneself, wholeheartedly. It's about making any sacrifice you need to without a reason.
A friend told me this once... "Love is when you want them to be happy - even if it means you are not apart of it..."
This can be impractical as well due to the fact that there are people who would totally take advantage of this ideal. Yes, if the other person is equally putting your feelings and needs before their own. No, if you are totally putting someone else before yourself who is not doing the same for you because that is not love it is stupidity...
For the first time, recently, I feel as if I only want one woman. Is this love? Infatuation? I don't know. I've never had it before, though. It's overwhelming, and very strange to me. I do not agree with any of the definitions proposed in this thread so far, however. Die for you? Romantic and foolish. Putting them before yourself? Also foolish. How can you expect to make someone else happy if you are not happy? Your own happiness and well-being is paramount to love; without them, you will be unable to love another. To be able to grow old together without fear? This might be onto something. But one could have this simply out of convenience. I think true, pure love is when you love someone without demanding or even expecting their love in return. Unconditional.
Love is when you wouldn't like to see your boyfriend walking miles in the snow on his bare feet :cheers2:
Corny sayings are destroying the world!! Here's a better, more realistic one: Love is when you...have an overriding sense of self-righteousness thinking that love is spiritual and superior when "love" is nothing more than a need to procreate. Sorry to mess up your day, but it's da truth.
i love love... . .i dont know how to explain it, you would do anything for that person , walk a million miles for them, theyre always on your mind, still get that feeling that i cant explain when you see them... loads of things ...
Romance for me is fleeting and does not last. To me it seems like a lot of people think they are in love when really they are just in sex with them. Be careful of expectation.
