I'm an aspiring DJ and I'm looking for any and all advice on how to put tracks together. I'm mixing, but I'm still working on when to drop in and with what.

I'd like to stir up the forum a little bit, also, in an attempt to get you guys to be more vocal in the forums. Club scene people! Let's hear ya

    gooood man!

    WhisperingWoods,
for now i will be brief,
pick a genre (good for starting off).
listen to a good lot of sets, find ones you like, DJ's you like, listen to when they drop tracks and such.

it's different for every genre man, some have 2:00 min mash-up transitions, others will have a quick switch drop it on the 1. it all depends on the dynamic structure of the tracks, like static vs. dynamic genres. Also, where you are in your set, like 5 mins in vs 30 mins.

ha drop in with what, good question, always something harder and bassier than the last track, unless you are looking to break it down and give people a break, but most people are only interested in humongous beats.

    good man. :)
