Following on from the porn discussion in the main forum which also led in to discussions on fetish and other "alternative" sexual practises ...

Just a little poll as I'm curious as to how many people have and haven't done anal sex ... who likes it and who finds the idea totally taboo?

    Anonymous voting of course :)

I would have had options on fingers and tongues etc but ran out of spaces ... I'll save that for another poll I suppose

(I'm guessing that this could be a sensitive subject so no slagging or I'll lock the thread)

well its half three in the morning and im about to start the uk end of my stupid little travelling game.. so i thought "oooo 1 last post" and imediately i see "Anal sex" staring at me from my monitor... so i guess this is as good a place as any to put a final post.

    i would have voted paul mate... but there wasn't a tick box for;
male, done it, it was alright but nothing to write home about, if you look about an inch past that you got a better, self lubricating hole.

so i didn't bother.. but when you post a poll with all the fingers and tongues replies... put this one in and tick it for me.

    cheers dude

take it easy all... and play safe

    peace and love

    over and out

    t-t-t-t-t-t-thats all folks

Hmmm, it doesn't really appeal to me personally (in relation to men or women) but each to their own....

Got this off a medical website... for your info;)

Anal sex is medically risky behavior, even if condoms are used as a barrier for STDs.

The anal sphincter muscle is not anatomically designed to comfortably admit external objects--it is designed to relax and stretch when stimulated internally by rectal fullness from stool. The automatic reflex is for it to contract and tighten when pressure is applied externally. The risks, even with gentle insertion, are laceration of the anal tissue, and rectal mucosa, resulting in pain, bleeding, and difficulty passing stool comfortably.

Any presence of blood can potentially expose the insertive partner to bloodborne STDs like Hep. B, Hep. C, and HIV. In addition, exposure to stool can result in urethral infections in a male insertive partner.

The receptive partner is at more risk for contracting STDs if there is trauma (even microscopic) to the anus or rectum due to the potential presence of virus in semen, if ejaculation takes place in the rectum. Human papilloma virus also is likely to be spread anally due to this trauma to the anal and rectal tissue, and some of the most difficult persistent HPV infections we see are chronic anal warts, both external and internal to the anal sphincter and they are exceptionally difficult to treat, often requiring surgery to remove.

Aside from the traumatic and infectious risks, there is the risk of sphincter tone (tightness) loss over time due to repeated dilation for insertive intercourse. Many receptive partners experience stool incontinence (leaking of stool or poor control) when they have anal sphincter tone decrease. This, needless to say, is very bothersome and uncomfortable and has to be surgically corrected if it becomes chronic.

Lastly, there is increased risk of spreading gastrointestinal pathogens through anal contact--whether it is bacterial infections like salmonella or E. Coli, or parasitic infections like Giardia.

well you dont have a botton for me, either, i have noth given and recieved it and enjoyed it but only as something when I am in the mood which granted isnt very often. i know the risks and is something I will only do with a long term partner and it has to just feel right, if I was to feel any pressure to do it, I just couldnt as I wouldnt be able to relax and that would be increasing the risk.

Ok I will stop now before you all have to much info lol

There was this gay couple I knew years ago, and one guy used to work in this support charity for people with STDs and so forth. What he did tell me that always stuck in my mind was that a large number of gay men have to use tampons in later life in order to stop seepage.

Personally, I'm quite happy with the notion of the sphincter and associatted muscles as erogenous zones, so a bit of light fingering and so forth - no problemo. As for sticking my old man up the brown tunnel? Ummm... nope. Like thingy said, what's the point with a well lubriacted alternative ready and willing and just around the corner?

That really isn't a pleasant thought and I remember you posting it a while back and thinking that then.

I don't want to sound patronising - but you will eventually get pregnant through using the rhythm method...it's one of the least reliable forms of birth control.

The rhythm method is much more unreliable than using condoms. When used correctly condoms have a 98% success rate. The rhythm method seems to ignore the issue of pre-cum :p

I concur. Also, at the age of 33, I've never had a condom snap yet. Like Alimawotsitkothingy said, it's all about using them correctly.

This thread leads me to the conclusion that you pro-anal people just aren't getting enough mind-blowing vaginal sex!

I can honestly say that having a dick shoved up my arse is on a par with with hammering 9 inch nails through my hands. And I'm not even uptight sexually either! ;)

Even some of the gay men I know (my brother included) say there's more to (gay) sex than intercourse!

It speaks to me of pain/discomfort, dominance and extremism.

But 9 inches is far longer than the average nail ... (allegedly)
