Hey everyone, I'm new here. I Have been reading some of the posts on different methods of dreading, my hair is down to my butt and I have decided that I want to go with the natural dreading process. Any tips and pointers for me?

great chouice long hair usualy dreads fast, so be diligent about seperating em often till well formed, u can add beads too to help keep em controlled
    ther then that
residue free and clean is all u need
it takes care of itself, just dont let it overdread into 1 huge dread

and post pics often your progress should be fast
it will look craaazzzy a few weeks
just seperate and love it it will settle down as it gets tight
the craziness is a beautiful thing to watch become real dreads

I can see how it would become one big dread quickly, everymorning I wake up with a HUGE knotty mess in the back! So when u say beads...should I seperate all my hair into sections and put beads on each section? Do the beads stay on by themselves or do I need to secure them with something?

what id do..twist sections up tiughtly
wet the very ends (lick em saliva works great) put a loop of thread through the bead catch the very ends ogf the hair in the loop and pull through the bead
force the vbead upwards till it sticks
(it may push some hair up making loops above the bead thasts great will kick start knots)
u may need to adjust em npw and then to be sure they stay tight
once they start to dread they should be permanantly in there

    or
use peyote stitches the sasjme way, advantages, theyre flexible dont hurt to sirt or lay on, and if u ever wanna remove em clip the string that holds em together and they fall tright apart
