My hair isn't dreading just about at all on the top of my head. It has been 5 months and just about every else on my head is dreading fine (well the front isn't dreading much at all either)...any suggestions? I wear a wool hat about half the time and always wear it to bed. I wash every 3-4 days with Sea Salt soap. The back is dreading much better than everything else, btw. My hair is about 5 inches or so in length (after dreading).
patince it will happen try not always wearring the hat to bed? try a bead on the strugging parts? it may not all dresd at the same rate thats ok will all dread eventualy u can help it along with a few beads..or altering how u sleep (hat no hat..if wearring the hat every day dont work try not wearring it awhile..i never ever wear a hat to bed and soon as my fuzz reachjes a couple inches it starts to dread all on its own)
Same, the dreads at the top of my head have dreaded slower than the beasts at the bottom, but they are slowly coming together Since I've dumped maintenance theres a tonne of long loose hair espesially at the top, weirdly shorter than everywhere else lol but meh, I'm hope it'll come into its own on its own
I had my hair backcombed into thin dreads when I started and some have unraveled...some were just started naturally are coming along the slowest, if at all....it seems like this process is taking forever (5.5 months so far) ...My hair looks like normal hair almost (on the sides and top)...bah, whatever...I just got to wait it out some more and hopefully they'll do something :toetap05: ...and they say curly hair dreads fast...yeah, right...
like i said ..loo9se the hat most of the time allow em to move freely, and, toss in a few beads it'll get goinbg quicker 5 monthgs isnt all that long really lets see pics
I have learned to just let it go. Just accept however slow the progress. It's been a year for me; other people's hair at 2 months look more mature than mine. Just let it be, if it takes 10 years to get where they are at 1, so be it. We are here for the long haul. Perhaps I will appreciate more what took ten years, vs their easy one.
Thank you, brother. We are two kindred souls, like minds~ =) I plan to do the deep cleanse later today, so I'll try to take pictures after the rinse to share with all. You might remember me, SE. I was a member here a long time ago, and I was mean to pretty much everyone. I was filled with bitterness and hate. Yet through my spiritual journey seeking inner peace and contentment, I have seen my errors. I am currently recovering from a plague of mild depression and self-hate. I still have headaches and strange sick feelings, but I am happy to be alive and to let live!~
hmm did u have tghe same name then? to be honnest theres so many ppl who are nmean to random ppl for no reason i dont take notice of too many, except the worse of the worse. but we all go through shit now and then..its good that your trecovering now though. for lingering symptoms id suggest dr mary from www.marysherbs.com she really knows her shit when it comes to treatting depression addiction and mental issues herbaly.
No, I was under a different name then. I thank you for your kindness. I've been feeling a lot better these days.
The top is starting to dread some finally...My dreads are pretty damn thin so far (almost look like normal hair)...but, I'm with you guys...I'm in it for the long haul...I probably have over 70 dreads on my head, so I imagine it's going to take some time =). I think I'm going to switch back to Bronner's today, as the Sea Salt with the Shea Butter is maybe conditioning my hair?
shea butter is a conditioner yes u never mentioned shae butter b4 if u had i woulda said stop using it except ewhen the hairs real dry and brittle
Yeah, I wish someone would have caught that in another thread (before I bought 3 bars)...oh well...back to Bronner's.
didnt see the other thread i guess.. the bars just use when u neerd conditioning 3 bardss will last ya years then
Yeah, the thread was a month or two ago. I washed tonight and they are looking better. I would like to use Bronner's, but the stuff doesn't lather worth a damn...Mixed 12 to 1, or even 6 to 1 and just like water...
your kidding bronners lathers like crazyup to 20-1 for me well at 20-1 its lil weak but 12-1 it lathers a hell of alot
I put some in an empty shampoo bottle then fill it up with water and then squirt it on my head and lather it in from there and it gets really foamy. Its cool if some of it hasnt started to really lock yet, at 5 or 6 months i think i had some parts that were beginning to even be mature and others that were yet to even really start. My hair kind of worked its way forward from a spot or two in the back where it first started to mat, as opposed to all of it progressing evenly at once.
That's reassuring. I'm at 6 months this week. The back is knotting up real well...The rest is just sorta sluggish, but I guess that's to be expected.
