Was about to take my first real San Pedro voyage and was wondering what a good dose would be to achieve a moderate trip? Info: Cuttings are from a HUGE mother plant grown in California. I'm talkin' really big, and probably really old. I'm 5'2, 130 lbs., and have done only mushrooms (about 6 times) as far as psychedelics go, and salvia leaves a couple times with disappointing effects. Again, I'm looking for a tangible experience, but nothing extreme. I had a bad first mushroom trip due to taking too much and don't want to do the same with the sacred cacti. I also don't want it to be too mild or a waste of my time/$. I know that cacti vary greatly in potency and there's no "one size fits all" dose, but what has been a good dose for you experienced trippers? (I should also include that I did NOT obtain the cactus from Bouncing Bear, since the consensus around here is that their sh*t is weak)
Allllllllrighty then! Guess I'm gonna go with 9 inches, no skin no core. Gonna chop it up finely, dry it in front of a fan/in an oven on low w/ door open, crush with mortar and pestle into a powder, and capsulize. This is all going down tomorrow or the next day, btw. Loves talkin' to mahself!
prepare to drink alotta water, and possibly have the shits from the capsules. If your eating Pedro then I highly recommend you go with a whole foot to get a better idea of it... the body can handle quite a bit and a foot is usually the average dose, 9 inches might be a bit mild. Also... expect to feel pain in your stomach, it'll last the entire trip if you don't puke. Smoking helps alot. But if you keep it down it will last a lot longer.
Your crazy dog. There is alot of pachanoi growing all over cali. That where I get mine. You gotta cut the dark green parts off the cactus and smoothie them in your blender. Dont forget to cut out your spines, word is they contain small amounts of strictnine. Anyways smoothie the skins one by one through the small hole in the top of your blender. Once it fills half way, pour out the flourecent green foam into a warm pot and repeat until your done. 1.5ft of pachanoi skins will give you a good strong high. Just slowly bring your foam to a boil while you stir the foam. The foam eventually melts into a dark green liquid. Once you get all the foam melted to liquid, then pour it through your common metal screen baking strainer. Let cool and then store in a ziplock baggie in the freezer until ready to partake.
I just dried and ground into fine powder, then chugged w/water. took 2 or 3 turns to fully wash down, but I was enlightened for a good 8 hrs. w/no nausea that I recall. No better chef than mother nature
Hey, just wanted to thank you folks for your responses! I took 10-11 inches worth of cactus powder (no xylem or core) and had a pretty nice experience. It lasted 12 hours and was pretty deep at some points! Mild visuals, sensory enhancement, random rushes of euphoria, and an all-around good time. I had no nausea except for a brief 30-second period about 7 hours in...after eating 4 pieces of pizza. The pain in my back/lower abdomen was excruciating, so I drank lots of water, which really helped but brought on a feverish nausea that was really intense. Good thing it lasted less than a minute! I guess my least favorite thing was the feelings of fatigue/sedation I'd get randomly. I'm a low-energy person naturally, so I prefer things that stimulate. I could've stood for it to be a bit stronger, but it was perfect for my first time (unlike my 1st shroom trip, where I ate about 6 grams and spent the night in pain on the floor). I'm thinking about 12-14 inches will be good next time around. I highly recommend the capsule method if you don't mind spending an entire afternoon/evening on preparation. With a little ginger tea, there was no stomach upset whatsoever, and I didn't have to taste any cactus slime. Anyone interested in my prep method, let me know and I'll get back to you.
