i can honestly say that a LOT of phish fans i've met do come from upper income levels. phish does seem to have a lot of yuppies as fans. but on a better note, mike gordon and leo kottke made great music together. you can't exactly be a shitty guitar player if leo kottke allows you on stage to perform with him.

 

Neither of the articles said that the arrests happened inside the concert either. The article says that the 200 cops where in place through out the city. The venue used privet security as they always do, just like they did in 96, 97 ,99 ,03 ,04 ,& 06 when phish was there. I mean its common sense to anyone whose ever been to a multi day large music even... people will get pulled over on the way and searched, people will pick a corner and break out the nitrous(idiots), and people will be hustling their shit in the lot... thats where the arrests happen. I see almost 100 live acts a year and I have only seen people arrested inside a concert venue twice.. and both times where for fighting.

I do believe that dealers pollute the scene, i don't recommend buying from them. I recommend making friends where ever you go, especially at music events. Friends always have the best shit.
