Er, hi?

My name is Alley. Not Rachel. In fact, my name has never been Rachel, and probably never will.

I work at the local elementary school, at the latchkey program. It's basically an after school babysitting, with anywhere from 20-40 kids. It is a great job, I play with kids the whole time and get hugged and danced with and sangto. Best job ever.

I dislike making introductory posts, because they're kind of like that one little section in all internet forums or dating sites or whathaveyou. The one that is labeled "Likes".

What do I like? I fucking like everything.
Permafrost and charcoal and book bindings and hail and glitter and buckles and masking tape.
I find it impossible to make a list of things that I like that makes sense, or that one might be able to discern from which what kinds of things I like. I guess I could put them into groups, but then it sounds equally ridiculous (I like frozen things and things that have been burned and weather and packing supplies?). okay, rant over, sorry.

I am a senior in Birmingham Michigan, and am interested in the idea of taking a year off of having my brain systematically crammed full of knowledge that is supposed to make me a functioning member of society to travel or commune or see something. Soul searching, I suppose.
I guess I want to see what else is available, because I've lived like I live for eighteen years of my life, I could do to use one year to have some meaningful experiences and find where I want to be, yeah?
